Hi All,
For the first time in my life, I am getting involved into a forum seriously... I have been looking through his forum for couple of days and have been very very impressed and inspired by the way people are changing their way of lives... Hope to bring in some changes in my life too... First of all let me congratulate the whole group for a wonderful job and continuous support each other provide to keep others motivated...

Ok, coming to myself, I have been thinking of losing weight for a long time... and over the period of time I have definitely put on weight and a visible ponch... On and off I have been going to gym... but give up either due to motivational factors or due to work pressure... I am a 26 year old guy trapped in a body of 35...

I am currently 186 pounds... have to lose 31 pounds to reach my target of 155 pounds... I would like to begin this new journey with all of you...

All of you losers out there(I mean weight losers), you set an example and rightly justify "Where there is a will, there is a way"...

:) ... this mail turned out to be pretty long than I intended it to be...

Welcome to the boards both of you. Weight loss can be pretty scary at first - but it gets easier as time goes by, and the increased ability to exercise makes it more fun.

Gym isn't for everybody, if you find it difficult to motivate yourself to keep going, maybe try another activity. A good one to start with is walking. Serious walking burns serious calories, and if or when you are fit enough, you can let it develop into jogging and running. Others love cycling, or swimming, martial arts, Tai Chi, Yoga, etc ... you get it? Also start to inject more activity into your life - you know, use the stairs not the elevator etc. Ideally you want to find activities that you will continue post-weight loss. For example, I enjoy running with my dog, strength training at the gym, dog-walking, and cycling. Before I started losing weight, I didn't do any of those things.

Set yourself some goals, consider starting a thread each in the online diary section, and start living! Good luck.
