hi guys, I am a 28 yr old female
wanting to increase speed for middle distance running without losing explosive power towards the end of the race.
I have done sprint training (100m and 200m) during my teenage years but since then stopped when I moved onto other sports .
Recently, i have started to run 2k and after 1.5k, I really felt like I was losing breath and just hanging on in there - but I am not sure if it is a case of cardio strength or muscle strength.
Does anyone here understand the dynamics / balance between CV and muscle strength in running?
The second question is sometimes my mind plays tricks on me - I feel like I run the pace of a snail but the result time is better than I thought whilst other times I felt like I run like a wind but the times are slower than expected
