Interesting article about water

Found this article in a magazine:

German researchers found that people who drank 17 ounces of water boosted their resting calorie-burning rate by about 30 percent for 90 minutes. Why? Partly because your body burns extra calories to heat the water to body temperature. More is better: drinking eight 8 ounce glasses of ice water daily can zap an extra 70 calories (and save you lots more if you're replacing sweetened juice or beer).

Never knew you burned more calories by drinking ice water.

(I'm being facetious)

I just bought a gallon of spring water and keep refilling the gallon jug and drink out of that its easier then refilling every half hour.

its all about the nalgene's thought 32 fluid ounces or 1 liter of pure water inside a bullet proof bottle(not quite bullet proof but its made of lexan that is bullet resistant.

umm grammaton, was that comment about dieing from drinking too much water a joke? ..... is there really a point where too much water is bad?

dude, nick i feel like i sense sarcasm. are you freakin serious? how can you die from drinking too much water. how much is too much

yes its very possible to die from to much water, its called water intoxinacation, you drink so much water that it washes out all the electrolyes(sodium, potassium) and it can kill your cells, and seriously affects your brain. marathon runners can get a mild form of it, cause there sweating out sodium and drinking tons of water, washing out more electrolytes, usually they just get a headache or nausea, ironicly the symptons are almost the exact same as dehydration.

Its because under hot or physically strenuous activitys the body loses electrolytes and sugar stores and when you exercise the blood circulation is rerouted so the usual mechanisms that control water and electrolyte balance's are disrupted, So drinking water delutes the electolytes in the blood. I have gotten near passing out by not eating enough sugar and exerciseing its wicked stuff.

Drinking too much water can lead to a potentially fatal condition called hyponatremia (pronounced hypo-nat-reem-ee-ah) — a disorder in fluid-electrolyte balance that results in low levels of sodium in the blood.

Dr. Tim Noakes, Professor of Exercise and Sports Science at the University of Cape Town, suggests that hyponatremia can be prevented by consuming no more than 900 milliliters of fluid per hour either at rest, during exercise, or during the post-exercise recovery period.
