Haldo everyone, I am new (though I guess you figured that out already).

Some weightloss info about me, in both American and Canadian units: I'm 5'7"/ 170cm and 20 years old (21 in about three weeks). At the end of last school year, I was 210lbs/95kg. I managed to drop 10lbs/5kg in about a month, which I was very happy with, but I have not budged since. No wait, I got down to 195/88 for a short period but gained it back on Thanksgiving -_-. I've had a stationary bike for the last couple of months, but have only just recently started using it more than like once every other week. I'm so far up to 45 minutes, 3-4 times a week on a low-resistence setting (2 out of 8). I've also recently started tracking everything that goes through my mouth in terms of calorie content, and am trying to keep it under 1500 per day. In the three weeks I've started these two things I'm still getting nada. I'm getting married in about 18 months (date not set yet), and I really, really, really want to get back down to what I even had a year and a half ago - 175lbs/80kg. Well, no, that's just the minimum, I really would like to get to 150/66, which is at the upper end of the "normal" BMI, and I can settle for that.

Other "about me" info: I'm a full time university student, studying Sociology and Psychology, and also work part time in a (inbound!) call center. I do have a lovely habit of also playing computer games, though I don't usually play more than 16 hours per week (that's a little more than two hours a day on average). My game of choice is World of Warcraft, and I more than welcome nerdery discussion on the topic ;) I'm also an amateur cartoonist/illustrator/painter who hopes to one day be able to make a buck or two off the hobby - my online gallery is at , but be warned, there is some "interesting" stuff there that some might consider "mature" (no nudity though)

And, that about covers it!

welcome in! i'm new myself so feels odd to be welcoming someone so soon.

i can identify with your gamer side, tho not the game you mentioned. recently, i have let go of the gaming as much but my faves are sims2 (i like to control lil people) and tony hawk (for my wannabe sk8r girl side).

:D

Beagle,
I see you play the same game my brother plays.....(that my sister in law is going to divorce him over)...lol.....Just to say hi and....

welcome! and glad to have you with us... my fiancee is totally addicted to wow - and I think that I would be too if i ever had time to play. I am in graduate school, working on a masters of divinity - school takes so much out of our days, but it looks like you are here and excited and I wish you the best of luck!

oh, don't mention that drug around my. WOW (World of Warcraft for the non-afflicted) is the reason why i don't spend as much time on this forum (and work) as I should :D ... i actually just swore of the game for the next two weeks starting this sunday...

.. and i see you're on deviant art too ... my roommate is good friends with the guys who run that - you might be familiar with some of his work: www.steeldolphin.com

.. but anyway, more direct to your post. If you can, i would get on an elliptical trainer. It is much better at doing an overall cardio workout without damaging your knees (as running does).

cheers

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding! Your artwork is amazing!!! Wow!!!!!! I am so impressed! You have a true gift! What do you want to do following graduation? I studied social work and psychology and am now a mental health counselor (Licensed Clinical Social Worker). I LOVE my work!!!! I look forward to getting to know you. Love, Julia

Julia: I'm not so sure on exactly what I want to do once I graduate. Ideally, I'd love to stay in school a couple extra years and go for a masters in sociology and do research (I find the field of youth subculture and even internet subculture to be so interesting!). But since I don't have the money to do that just yet, I think I may try for a couselling position in a jr. high or high school. Its all still pretty much up in the air, I don't graduate for another year yet.
