Check this out and let me know what you think. Im 28 yr old male, 200 lbs, 5 ft 10. I went from fast food everyday for the past five years everyday to this food intake. In the morning i eat oatmeal. Sometimes for a snack between lunch i have some sort of fresh fruit, then some type of sandwhich with mayo either from subway or home. Then some other type of fresh fruit for a snack. Then comes dinner. Sometimes a protein shake, fish, or a salad or some chicken. Canned veggies, mashed potatos, or whatever is in the cabinets. But last night and today i fell off the wagon. Taco bell i pigged out then at mcds db quater pounder fries and soda. Should i eat anything else today? Im gonna run 2-3 miles today, which ive been doing since monday. My question is am i eat correctly, i know you want to burn more than u take in. Will the fast food effect what i have done and cause me to loose progress? I feel like i have worked way to hard to start back tracking. Fast food is freaking addictive. Im already hungry and ate that mcds st 11 am and its 2 pm. This sucks.

In my opinion, I would just move on and get back to the routine that you were following. Don't react by starving yourself and not eating for a day, or whatever punishment you would have thought of. It happened, it's over, move on. Go do your run, eat according to your plan, and that's it. Strangely, the more you beat yourself up about it, the more likely you will be to overeat again. You can't expect yourself to be perfect all the time and the more pressure you put on yourself, the more extreme your binges will be.

I agree with PBL but when someone decides to eat fast food they usually don’t think of the bad nutritional value it offers but more of satisfying their hunger. This is where most people should reconsider their decision because fast food has an unhealthy excess of fat, calories, sugar and sodium and less of vitamins that are necessary for our bodies.

Most people don't consider fast food as their healthiest option. While there are some ways to eat a well-balanced, nutritious meal at a fast food restaurant, the unhealthy options are more common and more appealing.

Therefore I came up with a few suggestions that if you really have to eat and there is not much around except for fast food this is what you should do:

• drink water instead of any kind of soda or any high sugared drinks

• try and avoid super-size meals, bacon, dressings (mayonnaise, ketchup, BBQ sauce, salad dressings)

• Don’t go for the fried food options, which are the worst way to go. Try and head more towards the options of steamed, grilled, baked.

• Choose from the items that are labeled as healthy or organic. Most places now offer healthier selection due to the increasing demand for it.

• Start with eating salad; let your body get full on things that are healthier for you.

• These suggestions should help you eat healthier at fast food places, but keep in mind that the healthiest way to go at all times is to prepare the food your self and to eat organically.

Again I do understand that some people like you don’t have the time to make their food on their lunch break and want an easy way out, therefore for those group of people you can always prepare your meal over night and take it with you the next day. This way you are ensuring that you are getting exactly what you want and it would be healthy at the same time.

Hope so it would help.
