Hi I've been lifting weights for the past 3-4 months constistantly. I have noticed in the last two months or so that I sweat a lot more than I used to. Does this have anything to do with the working out, or is it merley a coinsidence and my bodies physiology is changing? (I'm 20) I write this becuase its becomming somewhat of an embarassing problem. Sometimes I sweat while just sitting down (mostly from the underarms)

Welcome to the forum.

You should take a break, you must be tired!

Its most likely to be the air conditioning. Maybe its 1 or 2 degrees hotter (makes a huge difference.) or maybe the filters need changing and so the air has more moisture. Maybe your working harder and your body is finding it hard to keep you cool.

haha I cant believe no one had this name either. Anyway...
1. Are you serious about taking a break?
2. About the sweating, I'm not talking about in the gym. When I'm outside the gym doing normal things I sweat drastically easy all the sudden...really frustrating becuase before this I was always a person that could run two miles and never sweat a drop...now...niagra falls...

Yep. The plan I'm doing now has prescribed breaks every 4-6 weeks.

You're metabolism is higher than normal because of the lifting. I tend to be warm for a day or two after lifting.

If its all the time its prob just because you have better circulation than you did before, which would keep you warmer.

I was joking about the break - you said that you have been you have been weight lifting for 3-4 months constantly!
But yeah, you should take a week off lifting at least every 3 months to give your central nervious system time to catch up. When you lift you are damaging and repairing your muscles constantly, the same as if you have had an operation or you cut yourself. Your CNS takes a beating.

You can get somthing from your Doc if its a real problem. but 1st try this...

haha sorry i meant to spell consistantly* ...anyway...Wow ok...I'm glad that there actually is a reason for it...I was starting to think I was some kinda sweating freak haha... it's not a major issue...but its a big enough deal to make a reaction...I probably notice it more becuase, like I said, I never used to sweat at ALL...big contrast there....

CertainDri works! I went through every brand of antipersperant before I tried this. You use it at night and a deodorant in the morning. This summer the AC went out on the Accord and even with sweat running down my face, I still had no underarm sweating.

Lewis and Cynic are right. Your metabolism is working harder than ever, which is good.

A little tidbit of a generalizing cliche:

A coach once told me that a sign of a good athlete is one who starts sweating at the thought of activity.

Haha thanks a lot guys.. fast responses and explanations....and to top it off an awesome avatar automatically added...much appreciated

Sweating

Hey man, as the name says, I'm a pretty bad sweater, especially my underarms. I've started to manage it a bit with a few things, drysol (which helps but isn't perfect by no means) and this very thin, contouring T-shirt I discovered that is made to hold in the sweat without getting your outside shirt wet. It's so thin you can wear it under a normal T-shirt and no one will notice. The T-shirt really is a God-send and I feel a lot more confident now that I don't have huge sweat stains under my arms for everyone to notice. You can go to the link below to learn more and judge for yourself. Good luck bud.
