Inclined BenchPress VS flat Bench press?

Hello, I was wondering if anyone could please tell me the reason for doing a flat benchpress if doing an inclined only increases the intensity and at the same time works the same muscle groups?

Likely a question that has been answered on her a few times however i was unable to find a thread about this topic
goodday

Incline Bench press works more of the upper chest muscles near the collar bone and neck.
The flat bench press works more of the lower and overall chest muscle.

incline also works the shoulders a bit more doesnt it? since the more incline, the more you go towards a vertical push

The bench press doesn't work the 'upper' chest. Since the pectoral is a convergent muscle, you stimulate different directional fibers when you work different angles. Majority of the time you can get away with one, but it will help to supplement. Incline will also incorporate more anterior deltoids.

mreik is right, of course. its not that you're working a different area of the chest...its that you're putting the stress on the chest differently, thus making the body build up the pectorals to accommodate that stress the next time you workout.

keep the incline to no more than 40degrees. otherwise you really start putting more stress on the ant. deltoids and work the pecs less.
