Inclined Bench Press

So, ive added Inclined bench press to my routine, something i havent tried in a while. i really liked it. currently i do it once a week and do flat twice a week. But latlay ive been wondering, should i rather do inclined 2 times a week and flat only one time a week. I hear many people really like inclined and do it instead of flat bench. What is the reason for this?

It's not good to stick to one type of bench press, so I couldn't answer for their logic, but the IBP also hits the anterior delts quite a bit as well.

i think flat bench is overated for pec development..and so many guys i know say it gives them shoulder probs.
i find incline hits the pecs more and doesnt bother shoulders weird i know.

I did nothing but inclines for a couple of years because they do not seem to bother my shoulder as much as flats. I recently started doing flats again after reading a bunch of articles about proper benching form. We'll see how it goes this time.

What about adding some variety to ur chest routine? One day flat, then incline then decline? Then switching the order the other week? I do all 3 types of presses, Decline bugs me a bit though because of the blood goin to my head, but i like doing it ... just remember to breathe properly ;)

I actually find the complete opposite when I do inclined, it hurts my shoulders, and I actually had a shoulder injury due to IBP. I tend to do more flat that inclined, but I try and keep it 50/50. I hurt IBP works shoulders much better, and also adds more to your upper half of your pecs. Is that true? I don't know.

Most people can do more flat than incline. Its the angle of the lift and the way the muscles are used. Dont try to do the same amount or you will hurt yourself.
