inches off my waist- what's typical

I'm new to wlf.com and hope this is in the right forum. I am 5'6" weigh 140 and am generally satisfied with my body measurements of 36-31-39. My goal is to loss 20 pounds of fat and gain 5 pounds of muscle through diet, exercise and weight training. I would like to lose about 4 inches in my waistline and possibly an inch in my hips. In your experience how many inches overall does a 15 pound weight loss equate to? Is 5 inches a realistic goal? My waist is definitely where I need to lose weight as my arms, legs and rear end are pretty well toned.

you really can't pick and choose where you will lose weight from... the fat is going to come off where it comes off.. 5 inches is potentially a realistic goal but I wouldn't expect 5 inches from one spot..

I'd probably focus less on the number on the scale and more on inches of that's really your objective...

that's definitely my primary goal. I want an idea of others experiences with 15 pounds equating to inches lost in total and the waist specifically.

every body is different... and every body loses weight in different spots -if you lose 15lbs -that weight might come off your butt, your thighs, your stomach, your boobs...

It's possible that it would all come off in one spot... but it's generally not the spot you're hoping for :D
