Incentive - Carry your weight

I work in the Engineering Industry and we deal with a lot of items that are fairly heavy. So I wondered if there was anything I had that weighed as much as the ammount of blubba I needed to loose. With calculations I was looking for something around 50kg and I found an electrical motor that was just about 50kg. I know how heavy these motors are but was quite astonished when I actually picked it up. Yes it was b***dy heavy.

First thing that springs into my mind is how did my weight get to this ? (and I have been heaveier). Second thing is, and more scarily is that how does my heart and the rest of my body cope with this ?.

Needless to say this has made me more determined to loose weight. If anyone needs inspiration just try lifting the weight they need to loose. It may be scary but it's a good kick up the ar*e !

Didn't inspire me (anyone who knows me knows how much I hate that word_) but it amused me... :D

late last year i bought an olympic barbell and weight set - total set weighed in at 230ish lbs.

had to be carried in by two rather strong gentlemen... (who got well tipped by my lazy ass)

It occurred to me a bit later -that the total poundage of my weight set was going to equal the total pounds that i want to lose.. i've made iy my misstion to be able to bench that set... I still can't bench even close to 100lbs yet :) but I will :D

Yep. One of the things I'm doing at work right now requires me to move large masses a couple of times a day. The largest are only 35 pounds each, but those suckers are HEAVY! I need to lose about 50 pounds. Yikes.

Have you ever seen mypetfat.com? They have fake chunks of fat that weigh either 1 or 5 pounds. They show them in people's fridges so that they think twice when grabbing a snack! Five pounds of fat is HUGE!

Yuck...

Is that a pokeball in the fridge?

Before I was even at my highest weight, it was always in the back of my mind that I needed to lose at least 50 lbs. One day at Costco, when lugging a 44 lb bag of dog food down the aisle to my mother with the cart, I made that whole connection. The thought was something along the lines of "Damn, I need to lose a lot of dog food".

Oh, and I laughed hysterically at the Pokeball in the fridge thing. :p

I always think about things in the opposite way.

Instead of thinking in terms of my 70lbs(need to lose) as an object that can be picked up, i think of it in terms of what it would feel like getting around needing to carry that much less.

It's just too bad that it's a lot easier to find a 70lb object to pick up for a minute than it is to tie a balloon to yourself that has 70lb's of lift :D lol j/k

My husband suggested that i try walking a couple of miles wearing a backpack that weighed 21lbs (the amount of weight i have lost so far)...so i did and i could not believe how heavy it felt while i was waking!!! And i used to carry that around every minute of the day! It helped me realise how much good i am doing my body when i lose even 1lb. 1 less to cart around all day!

Im planning to do it again with 25lbs, 30lbs, etc just to remind myself that I AM NOT GOING BACK AGAIN!!! :D:D
