I am not exactly sure where to post this but I am trying to loose weight so here works for me.
I should also say I am pretty sure it is going to take more than just 10 minutes a day of exercise to get to where I want to go but I have to start somewhere.
I have recently returned to working out after a long hiatus and I was starting slow due to previously existing injuries and being incredibly out of shape.
I was dong this routine every other day
25 reps
Bench Press – using the bowflex
Chin up – using the bowflex
Dead Lift – Using a barbell
40 reps
Dumbbell single-arm shoulder press
Dumbbell single-arm row
Dumbbell lunge or step-up
15 reps
Barbell bent-over row – Using a barbell
Dip – currently using 2 chairs
Squat – using dumbbells
Nothing heavy just getting myself moving again.
Recently however a family member that knew I was trying to get back into shape bought me Tony Horton’s 10 minute trainer and I was wondering if anyone had any opinions about it.
For my level it looks pretty good you can do 10 minutes a day or 30 depending on your conditions. It is broken down into 5 sections
Cardio
Total Body
Yoga Flex
Abs
Lower Body
And it comes with a schedule that gives you the 1 that he recommends each day for a month with 2 others on the same day as optional. I have watched the dvds and each program has it’s own warm-up and cool down so it amounts to 14 minutes or 24 minutes or 34 minutes depending on how you follow the program. I have watched all the sections and it looks ok to me but what so I know.
I am all set to start it on the 1st of February and I have no delusions here I will be lucky if I make it through 1 ten minute workout that he has but I am going to give it a try.
Does anyone have any opinions/experience of this program or of Tony Horton? I have seen the infomercials for his P90X program and although I looks like a good program for some reason the infomercial annoys me after a few minutes.
