Improving strength without weights?

How can I improve strength without the use of any weights, MBalls, KBells etc.?

Doing bodyweight exercises like press-ups and squats superslow is quite challenging but is it really building up a lot of strength?

how about just using things around the house? 50 pound bags of dog food or rock salt, bricks, milk jugs, etc...

Once again, this was a question that was asked quite often on this forum, and instead of answering it over and over, I wrote a 5 part mini-course (if you will) and how to get fit from home with no equipment.

If you are interested in receiving it (it's FREE!), send an email to:
gymcoch@sendfree.com

you will get the first part immediately in your email inbox, then the next 4 parts will come over the next 2 weeks (to give you a chance to read them).

If you like what you see, feel free to refer anyone else you think might be interested.

The course has also been published on

Check it out!

misleading title. it sounds like you're looking for ways to improve strength without weight training...when what you really mean is "I don't have access to gym equipment"...you're still wanting to use weight to improve strength.

No I literally want to know how its possible to improve strength using just bodyweight- I go to a gym but I also want to be able to do some serious strength training in an empty room.

then the answer is yes, to a degree you can do pushup variations, bodyweight squats, wall sits, and of course pullups.

But at some point, the body adapts, and you plateu, because you can't increase your body weight without some kind of weight apparatus.

Ive already writen this twice on other forums today so forgive me if this is a lil breif.

Lets just say you have 100 fibers in your bicep.

muscle fibers on work eather on or off, there is no mid-way.

Lifting your arm may use 10 fibers.
lifting a brick may use 50 fibers,

but what you want to do is lift heavy so you are using each of the 100 fibers. Otherwise you will only develop some of the muscle.

you can do get tired from doing body weight exersise easily, this is because your only using half the muscle, ur not wearing out the whole thing.

you can get stronger by doing body weight only, but after a year you'll stop getting stronger, and you'll be at the same stage you would have been in 6months of weight training.

Planning on being stuck in any empty rooms?

LOL I just thought of Half Baked where the guy in prison was like, "No, no, no, no, no!" while crossing out the calendar the black dude gave him till the day he would make him his bitch.
