..and I found this website through a Google search... I'm hoping that although it's US based, I can find the support and help I'm undoubtedly going to need.
I'm a 29 year old Brit and I've always been fat, ever since I was a young child. I'm married with 2 kids and I hate being a wheezing, out-of-breath fatty when my 3 year old son is running rings around me and wanting to play with me.
The 'slimmest' I've been was when I was 17 and got down to around 200#.
When I was 15, I weighed around 230#. At 20, I was up to 280#. Now at 29, I'm tipping the scales at around 308#.
Yesterday, I bumped into a friend that I haven't seen for a while. This is a girl that's 3 years older than me and has always been bigger than me. Recently, her doctor has put her on some form of liquid diet and she's lost 84# in 6 months! She looks amazing for it and it's made me realise just how unhappy I am with my size.
Although I'd love to lose weight that rapidly, I don't believe it's going to stay off and I don't believe it's a particularly healthy way of going about it. So I'm looking to change my eating habits, cut down on the rubbish I eat and majorly increase my exercise level.
To give you an idea, I build websites for a living and consequently sit on my arse in the office for about 8 hours a day. More, if I'm busy. When I'm not in the office, I'm sitting on my arse in the car, driving home. Then, when I get home, I tend to sit on my arse in front of the TV before going to bed. So, I currently have a very sedentary lifestyle.
So, I'm going to have a good read of the site, hopefully soak up some good advice and start changing my life now, today.
If nothing else, you've given me a place to vent the above and I thank you for that. Apologies for the ramble!
