Hi. i'm Sandi and I'm new to the forum :)

I put on my weight from partying too much in my last year of highschool and 2 brutal years of video gaming, curse you world of warcraft!
I started a new regime of healthy eating and regular exercise June 1st and came here to get support aswell as offer my support to others on the quest of a healthier lifestyle.

I currently weight 285 pounds and am 6'2. I'm trying to shed the "noticable" weight before my Police Foundations program starts in September. I'm hoping to get down to maybe 240-230, just to get rid of the hanging gut. My goal weight is around 210, I think it's pretty reasonable for my build and height.

I have tried numerous diets and exercise plans in the past, they have worked well but I know I'm doing something wrong with the nutrition part of it and give up after 3 or so weeks.

Thanks for having me guys :)

Hi Sandy

I too have came here looking for support. I started watching what I eat about a week and half ago so right around the same time you did and I also would like to lose around 75 pounds. I don't know if I have lost any yet due to be scared to get on the scale. I am going to go buy one tommorrow though. I had one and threw it away, because I hated looking at the numbers on it. I have tried this before and never been successful so this time I have came here looking for support maybe we can lean on each other.

Ohh I know how you feel about scales. I hate looking at em myself because I usually always see the number go up and I either panic and hit the treadmill or just give up and stress eat the pounds back.
Don't worry about the FIRST number you see, because if you weigh yourself a week after some good exercise and healthy eating that number will be smaller and you will feel great! I find it to be a killer boost of confidence.

The first two weeks of any diet/exercise program are the hardest (for me anyways), once you get past that you're pretty much on your way, and don't be afraid to treat yourself once in a while, one of the biggest reasons I failed so much was because I restricted myself from anything sweet and it was a big mistake.

Thank you

I know I feel alot more confident this time than I have in the past. I sure hope that helps. I also think seeing that little tracker at the bottom will help to. If I can see my progress maybe I can actually continue with it. I know that is true not to deny treats. If you have them occasionally they sort of trick your metabolism, but it is so hard not to do it and feel guilty. I have to stick with it though I am so tired of hating what I see in the mirror and I want to look good for my husband. Congrats on the progress you have already made.
