Im only 18 and new to this, any help is welcome :)

hiya everyone, mmmm im new to this forum, but not at all to the whole weight loss battle :(
height: 5ft 5in
weight: 175 lbs (12 st 7 lbs)
well basically, about a year ago I was about 203 lbs (14 st 7 lbs) and a size 18-20, I would have continued to gain weight unless it wasnt for my health problems...When one day all of a sudden my chest began to ache, and from that day on I knew I had to do something.
At this stage Im 175 lbs (12st 7 lbs) - Im sooo unhappy, I feel hugee amongst all my college friends, they're all so slim and petite, and yeh they get all the guys (pathetic I know, im laughing at myself) and although I'm now a size 16. I was ALMOST a size 14 at one point (not long ago) I was 161 lbs (11st 7 lbs). The point were I began to give in was when my exams came along, and going through heartache (yeah we've all been there hurts like hell when you lose someone you love:ack2:) so my answer was FOOD!
Now a few weeks have passed, im still not over everything, however, im not going to let myself go anymore, ive had enough.
My main goal is to reach a size 10 (9st 5 lbs) by the start of my next college year, which is about 3 1/2 months, so people will be surprised when they see me, and that in a good way :) and also so I can show HIM, that I can do way better than his sorry butt :smash:
so im trying to lose about 42 lbs (3 st) in 3 1/2 months!
Any advice or help will be much welcomed, thank you for listening :)

( saw you were counting in stones =P .. and the sizes gave you away.. been studying in london for 3 years and am returning next year!)

Be happy! at least you overeat when you're sad and not like me, when you're happy! ;) (I stopped eating when I broke up with bf)

About the heartache, I understand. I wanted to do the exact same thing: I wanted to show I could be better than him. That I was worth more.
But in the end you do it for yourself, not for/because of him. I've learnt this on the long journey of weight loss.

You'll find plenty of tips around. And feel free to pop questions. I'll try help

You STOPPED eating when you broke up with your bf?! I can relate, it sucks ALOT :(

I am doing this for myself, so I can gain the confidence i've deserved my whole life for once, instead of putting myself down...and plus im want to show him im better than him and what he's missing out on :Angel_anim: lol

Where are you at with your weight loss journey? And how did you achieve it? If you dont mind me asking that is.

By the way, IC? what is that short for, im clueless :S

Hey there. Welcome to the site and congrats on your loss. 30lbs is amazing. :)

42 lbs in 3.5 months is an ambitious goal, but doable if you can keep up the motivation and work at it.

Tell us what your plan is ... what are you eating and what kind of exercising are you doing? Maybe we can make some suggestions to help!
 
good that you're doing it for yourself, that's the strongest motivation possible!

=D that was my 1st serious bf... the 2nd one I got over in half a night lol.

Lets see... I have started gaining weight when I was a 10 ish and then I kept gaining until end of high school where I was at some 70 kg (over 11st) for 5"3 tall! Uk size 14 I guess?
I then dieted for a bit and lost some 10 kg during a gap year. I've been at the weight of 57-8 kg Uk size 10 since then but then looked at pictures and realised how bad I looked on them. I just don't have the weight at the right spots! all in the tummy and under arms...
So I just nearly finished my, what I call, final and ultimate diet and am currently at 50kg for 5"3, that's a size 8 uk. Got tonning up left.. ugh

I set myself to run the city's half marathon, a great motivation to run and exercise. Eating less. I still had fries and crap but it got less and less. And trying to forget I'm on a diet: marathon, keep eating most of what I like, do tons of other activites, going out, joining step classes which are fun, walking everywhere.. etc..

I babble too much :p

Thanks karaCooks, but I still have a loong way to go. I know its very ambitious, but im going to try and reduce my calorie intake alot and hit the gym an hour a day (except sundays :)). I can't believe I let myself go and piled back the stone, that took me so long to lose :(. I'm trying to eat more healthily, then what I was - meaning cutting out all the fried food, crisps, chocolates (OMG they give me spots!) And excercise will be the treadmill, cross trainer and weights (my arms are reallly badd let me know if you have any ideas on how to tone them!) And also various classes that my local gym offers which include, pilates, aerobics, yoga, spinning. So far I have to say I'm loving the GYM! :), hows ur weight loss coming along??

sinui, OMG, he was my first ever aswell! :'( Im not going to let him get to me anymore, im made of steel (lol yeh sure).
WOOW! that is amazing, good on you! WELL DONE :D
and your a size 8, wow again :O well toning up shouldn't be a hard task for you as you seem to be very experienced, and i'm sure you will soon reach your goal!
Running the marathon, thats great! No your not babbling, im quite fascinated :) Keep it up!
and IC, lol yehh I know what your talking about.

 
and also to keep me motivated I'm making a slideshow of girls/women with great bodies, so when I feel like giving in, I can look at it - good idea?:)
