Hey guys,

I'm not sure if I'm dieting correctly...I'm eating 3 square healthy meals, only snacking on fruit and have cut out unhealthy foods...I had one bad day (I tried balancing it out by doing extra workout) because I was out with the lads - BUT I did better than usual by trying to be healthier aka not eating a kebab!

I know it's only been a week but that's a big thing for me, I've never went a day without coke/processed snacks.

I've been doing weight training/exercise bike I haven't lost any weight so far, what do you think should I carry on in the same way for another week and if there is no change I should change food/exercise? I know it's a slow change and it should happen in a week but I'm just a bit  as it's my first time on a real diet not Atkins etc etc etc...

I just don't feel I'm going to loose the weight, it feels like a distant idea because for the 16 years of my life I've been fat.

Yours,
Noah

I'd suggest you post this in the 'Harsh Truth' section - there's a team of experts who'll be able to guide you on your diet..

understanding that this is not going to happen overnight is a big hurdle to get over. it didn't a week or 2 to put on the weight, so we should be realistic about taking it off.

continue on the way you're going. I've found keeping a daily record of my weight and food with fitday to be really halpful. I've also found weighing myself on a digital scale to be beneficial to keeping motivated. even that .2 of a pound drop is enough to keep me going....

all this stuff is about making a lifelong change to be healthy, and to think about our food choices, how and why we eat the way we do. along with that comes dropping unecessary weight.

good luck with it.

Daybyday is right on point. Weight loss should be a slow but steady process, much like the process of weight gain..

Gaining knowledge on how the body (your body) works is essential in understanding what you need to do to lose the excess weight. A journal is also very helpful as you are able to track your progress, moods, foods, etc, as well as cry out for help or motivation should you need it.

I add to the good luck wishes, and hope you continue being successful.
