I'm Not Losing Weight

Hey guys, this is my first post here, i'm not losing as much weight as i'd like as fast as i thought i would be. I have been eating healthier for the past 3 weeks and the # on the scale is really discouraging. Keep in mind that i never weighed myself before the diet, so i don't know how much i already lost in the 3 weeks. Currently i'm 28yrs old 5'7 279lbs my frame is Medium/Large.

Here's my average day....

breakfast*** 1 packet of instant high fiber oatmeal with 22oz water and a multi vitamin with iron

1-2 hours later i'll have a banana with glass of water

coffee......1 cream 1 sugar.

alittle after that i'll have an orange with glass of water

lunch*** 1 small can of tuna in water, i eat it out of the can i LOVE tuna.

dinner*** i'll have 1 of many variety's of Healthy Choice meals with 22oz of water, i love the meat loaf or the chicken alfredo. They are low in fat/calories each meal has roughly 250-350 calories and 5-10 grams fat.

The ride home i usually have another banana..i love banana's and the quick energy jolt they give me. At night i'll have another packet of oatmeal and water.

I don't eat many vegetables except for whats in the dinner meals-i absolutely HATE HATE HATE veggie's. I've counted up everything today, and my daily Calories are around 1300-1400 and my fat grams are 7-15 roughly.

I go to the gym 4 times a week, i do alot of cardio on treadmill..mainly a 5mph Jog. The Heavybag is another huge area that i train. I love punching the bag, i love boxing. I also lift free weights alot aswell.

What can i do to improve everything..?? I've noticed that my works shirts fit more loose now, my thighs have slimmed alittle-pants are baggier by alittle. My 46inch waist didn't move at all though. Should i be eating more..???? I eat every no and again throughout the day to make sure my metabolism doesnt shut down, and overall i do feel VERY GOOD on a daily basis with this diet, my energy is very good all the time, i'm rarely hungry.
 
1. grab scale firmly in both hands
2. raise scale above head
3. throw scale forcefully on cement

Seriously though... have you read through the stickied posts in the various sections of this forum? There's a thread titled "Scale Mentality" written by one of our resident gurus, Steve, and its some well written words of wisdom.

There are several other stickied threads in that same section that are very much worth the time it takes to read them. I highly recommend it. If anything, it will give you a good basic grounding in some of the tools to successful weight loss, and probably spark some new questions.

You say you haven't lost weight, and the numbers on the scale are slow. Yet later you state that your clothing is fitting looser. It seems that I've read in many places the healthy number to look at for weight loss is about 2 lb / week. It sounds like you are making good progress in the 3 weeks you've been at it.

I'd recommend something protein in the morning, just based on my own experience. I feel better if I have a hard boiled egg with some toast in the morning as opposed to just toast. Or some cottage cheese, leftover steak... etc.

I'd also suggest not eating that prepackaged frozen crap and learning how to cook quick healthy meals. You can create something fairly simple and know exactly what goes in to it in very little time. You might even figure out a way to prepare veggies in a way you would like them. What is it about veggies you do not like?

Thanks alot, i will do more reading like you suggest. I'm the type of guy that can only eat a salad if bacon is in it, or broccoli with real cheddar cheese on it, maybe i should just blend em up and down it quick lol.

Hi,

I agree with Phoenyx suggestion, take more protein in you diet.
Remember, you weight loss journey only 3 weeks. A healthy weight loss plan may take time and don't feel depressed. Try to relax it will help you loss more.
