I'm new

Hello everyone!

I just stumbled upon this site today and think it will really help me in my weight loss. I'm 21 and just got engaged to a wonderful man! Over the last year I have gained about 20lbs. Mostly I think because I've been less active, and possibly also becuase I have been on certain medication (But that's not an excuse). Anyways I haven't been able to get into my shorts from last year and I can really tell in pictures that I've gained weight. Now that I'm engaged and will be getting married next summer, I want to get back down to where I was and just be healthier in general. I've started rebounding (exercising on a mini trampoline) as well as using 3lb and 8lb dumbells for working out. I also have a punching bag that I use. I'm just now really starting to get myself active again, but my biggest issue is my diet. I don't like veggies or fruit and feel like there's no way I'm going to lose weight. If anyone has any diet advice for me, please help me out!

Looking forward to having support and supporting others!

Welcome! There is lots of good information and inspiration in the journal section as well as the stickies in the newcomers section. You can learn to love veggies - there are even some really good recipes on here!

Hi, congratulations on ur engagement at least that's something to keep u motivated the rest of the motivation u need you'll get here.
Do u not like vegetables at all or is there a few that u like?

I know how you feel about fruits and vegetables because I had a time just getting used to eating them. One thing that I did in the beginning was to mix them in a blender and make a smoothie drink with them. It's healthy and best of all it tastes good! I still do it today.

You can also season vegetables up real good to give them a better taste.

I like salads, carrots(w/ ranch), celery (With penut butter), cauliflower (W/ranch). Fruit wise I like apples, grapes, banannas.

My problem is I just get tired eating this stuff.

Thank you everyone for the congratulations. I agree it will help to keep me motivated. All I keep thinking about is how awful I'll look in a dress if I don't get this under control!
