i'm NEW :)

hey everyone...i'm jessica, from maine...please help me out by reading this post. i'll take all the advice/ideas i can get!

i am currently trying to get myself into a habit of working out...but it's hard, because i'm lazy. :blush5: i am relatively thin i suppose, i'm 5'10" and about 143ish pounds. i am very small up top, more heavy through the stomach-hips-thighs area...you can call me a pear...i'm not very much in shape and i'd definitely like to be...i want to lose the vanity pounds through my heavier areas..perhaps replace the fat with lean muscle mass. i'd also like to tone up my arms...they are too flabby for a 25 year old who isn't considered chubby (well, other people don't consider me that anyway...but don't worry, i don't have body issues...i'm just trying to become the perfect version of myself while i'm still young).

basically i have a love for food...and i always seem to be hungry...i think i might have a high metabolism, where it burns off the food i eat quite well...but the stored fat from the past 10 years or so is pretty stubborn. i'm currently stuck living at home with my parents with no job & no car...so i have to rely on working out at home. a few times a week i try to make it on the treadmill for a 30-40 minute walk (i am seriously bad at running)...but it doesn't seem to be doing much, especially since i haven't been doing is as much as i should.

my mother wants to order the wii fit (although it seems to be sold out everywhere)...and i'm very excited about that, i think i would make me exercise more often if it were fun. also...i am thinking of taking up yoga...all i have is a beginners dvd, but i figure that's fine to start. i'm also thinking of picking up some dance work out dvds, since that would pertain to my interests and make working out more enjoyable.

does anyone have any tips on flattening the stomach and slimming out the hips/lovehandles/butt&thighs area?

my parents have a bender ball with the dvds...does anyone know if that works? i've tried it once, but found it kind of annoying. i'll go back to it, if people think it's a good program for the abs...

one more thing...i'm pretty small chested and fear that if i get myself to where i want to be, i'll be even smaller...any tips on preventing that?

thank you!

Getting the motivation to work out can be tough but once you get into the routine it's quite easy you have to want to work out. Try and make your self crave it crave the burn, the sweat the whole bit. I know after only 3 weeks do in fact crave working out it quite nice. (a little mind over matter) it definitely will work!

As far as losing trouble spots eat more foods that increase metabolism such as
Apples
Spinish
Green tea
Broccoli
Turkey
Jalapeños (i think all peppers do it too)

Also add a little extra fiber in your diet maybe some oatmeal with extra fiber may make you use the bathroom a little more often but in a healthy amount :)

Now for your workout...

Quadriceps - One of the most effective exercise to work your quadriceps and to lose thigh fat fast is the squat technique. Firstly, stand with your legs hip width apart then simply bend your knees while keeping a straight back going down to the floor until your butt is right angled to the floor. Return to starting position and then repeat the procedure. About 3 sets of 20 repetitions will do the job.

Exercise For Your Adductors To Lose Thigh Fat - This exercise requires you to lay on the floor. If you have an exercise mat then that will be awesome. Simply lay on your right side and lift your head up and use your right arm for support. Keep your right leg steady on the floor while raising your left leg slowly and then slowly lower your leg. Do not allow your leg to go all the way down until you have done about 20 repetitions. Repeat this procedure laying on your left side then switch back to your ride side until you have done 3 sets of 20 repetitions for each side.

Exercise For Your Hamstring To Lose Thigh Fat - For this exercise, lay face down on a bench. You will then bend your legs bringing your heels as close as possible to your buttocks. You can do about 3 sets of 20 repetitions and that will do the job. If you have a cable that will be better and speed up your fat burning process.

add a few jumping jacks and make sure to STRETCH before you work out Hell stretch some threw out the day while watching tv its really good for your body.

Exercise For Your Hamstring To Lose Thigh Fat

Yeah, impossible. You can't spot lose fat. We are geneticly designed to put weight on in one order and lose it in another.

As far as losing trouble spots eat more foods that increase metabolism such as

1) See above
2) Metabolism increasing or decreasing is a myth.

Stop the excuses. If you have fat that you want to lose, you are just going to have to eat less calories than you burn. You won't have any control of where it comes from though.
