Im new, this is what i have and what i want to lose

hi guys and gals, im obviously new and ill get right to it.

im around 60lbs over weight, its gotten bad and i need to lose it.

after trolling in the before and after section i know these forums are filled with people driven to their goals and i would love some suggestions.

what i have to help me lose the weight is a treadmill and dumbells. im going to try to hit the treadmill for a mile then lift some weights.
but i was looking for suggestions on my diet and different ways to excercise with the little amount of resources i have. i come from a samoan family where being big is common but i dont want to live that lifestyle. for my diet im going to try and eat much smaller portions with more fruits and vegetables. another thing is i know slim to none about nutrition and dieting, i need to be schooled in this category big time

any more advise would be encouraging from such a strong community,

Welcome Roy. Yeeeeah, you Samoans can be pretty big. But, I'm sure you can cut some weight and get the body that you want to have.

There is a LOT of great advice in the stickied threads. Read through those and that will definately get you off to a great start. :D
