Hi Im new here . Im looking for a bit of help .
My waight right now is 269 . This is the heavest I have ever been .I feel like crap all the time and am always sore .
Thought I would say hi . I will be here alot from now on because the people here seem realy nice . Thanks .
 
I just wanted to say hi and welcome. I know what its like to hurt all over so I can relate. I thought it was just my weight, I currently weigh alot more than you. But when I went low carb the pain went away so I strongly suspect I have a food allergy that inadvertantly was being ommitted from my diet. Not sure though but I know hurting every day sucks.

There's alot of great tools and tips posted in the stickies in the forum if you have time to check it out but like Bigreen said, I definitely recommend starting a weight loss diary. It's great to track progress but also we all seem to use them for sort of a home base to chat, lol. I've hijacked many a diary since I started here :X

Anyway other than that my best advice is whatever you pick for a food plan just make sure its something you can live with and also exercise is key. Even if you don't start immediately, sooner or later it has to be added in for successful weight loss. I've struggled this year because my weight is so high that exercise is really difficult but not doing it and only doing diet alone is not working so great so I bought an exercise bike yesterday and I'm so excited :) Anyway good luck, welcome to the forum, and hope to see around a bunch, ~Lisa

Thanks for the support , the people here are realy awesome . I work 12 pm till 11 pm during the week and 6 am till 12 pm during the weekends . With my working hours i find it so hard not to eat at night . What do you guys do so you dont eat at night ?
 
Don't eat at night? I eat at night all the time. It's the amount of calories in a single day that counts, not what time you eat them. :)

Also, with such times I think it'd be harder to find time (and motivate yourself) to excercise, especially as your weekend is backwards of your weekend.

Morning during the weekdays and afternoon/evening during the weekends, if you choose to exercise the weekends that is?
 
Well I walk my dog in the morning . Im going to pick up the pace and aim for the hills . I have mornings during the week and all day sunday . Saturday after work Im a write off . I guess I need to start counting cal's eh ? Thanks for your help .
 
Also, look at just eating smarter as well. If your ordering say Chicken, get the grilled chicken vs the fried bredded chicken, thats a few 100 calories right there. Also, to fill the void look at having a yougart instead of say chips or nuts. Big beer drinker? Then go for the (Uggh) "Lite" beer. Also, dont know if you have a 24 hour type gym nearby, but stopping either before or after work for a bit will greatly speed up the burn!

Yeah, it's subtle changes as BigBanger said. Whole milk instead of skim. Whole grain bread/rice/pasta instead of white.
 
Who knows how Im going to feel come the weekend but right now I think the beer has to go . Smaller helpings is a must for me as well . Thanks for the help .
 
Good work on getting rid of the beer, however when I lost weight I didn't really get rid of it at all, just cut back.
 
Well the day is over .
I started a thread about my goal .
I hiked with my dog for 50 mins and made sweat .
I think I ate about 1900 cals .
I know I drank tons of water .
Just cream and no suger in my coffies.
Im beat and am off to bed , night and see ya tomorrow .
 
Good luck on trying to lose weight man, as others have said the simplest changes can make a difference. Pick a healthy alternative over what you would normally eat, try to eat your meals slower and stop once you feel full.

I work the night shift so I'm always eating late. It's always been what and how much I eat, not when that has affected whether I lose or gain so I've always thought that was a wive's tale. Or more so applied to people who ate all day on a regular schedule then had snack attacks in the evening in front of the tv out of habit. Anyway I find as long as I'm eating when I'm hungry but not over eating and on some kind of schedule and healthy eating plan I'm good. We don't keep junk food in the house so when we do have some we only buy enough for then, never to stock up on it. I keep healthy snacks around so that when I do snack late its fine. I've always heard its bad to go to bed on a full stomach though so I do try to not eat a few hours before bed or if I do I eat something thats not heavy. There's my two cents, for what it's worth :) Good luck.
 
Well I failed today , I drank lotsa beer , Im realy drunk right now . I dident eat anything but I drank lots .
