Hello everyone. I'm new here and I have 50 pounds to lose. I'm thinking about trying intermittent fasting in order to cut the weight but in the past i've had problems sticking to any diet. In order to keep myself accountable, I'm thinking about creating a vlog but it sounds so scary.

I wouldn't be able to do IF. It is so strict... I am not sure that it will be necessarily the best thing if you have had difficulty sticking to a diet in the past.

I think that your best bet is to slowly adopt healthier eating habits one at a time so that it doesn't feel too daunting....
Maybe make sure that you drink at least 2 litres of water every day - and try to cut out or down on things like chocolate, cakes and crisps and see how you go with that...

Also try to move more - maybe walking more every day or trying to do some form of exercise... A lot of authorities think that we would be healthier if we all walked at least 10,000 steps a day.

Feel good about the good things that you do.

Another good move would be to write down everything that you eat and drink each day for a week. You don't have to share it - just evaluate it. Most of us know about the naughty food that we have - the things that are stopping us lose weight... It can be a good idea to jot down the circumstances - maybe your mood at the time - when you are eating the naughty things...

Slowly you can tighten things us so that you are having more vegetables - maybe cooked in a healthier way - but you do not have to do everything on day 1. Build it up step by step and feel good about it.

After all - you want a new healthier lifestyle which will keep the weight off once it comes off.

great advice above, lots more water, more activity. but you can get all the benefits of intermittent fasting quite easily. just make sure the gap from your last meal of the day to your first meal is 12 hours. if you eat supper at 7pm you can only eat again at 7am. this is easy to achieve as you will be sleeping for most of the twelve ours. new studies have shown an improvement of more than 33% in metabolic functions with this 12 hour fasting gap between supper and breakfast.

Hello everyone .. some great advice above.. slowly and surely.. but.. I am a fan of feeding the body .. I myself will experience low blood sugar if I am not eating regularly.. I believe it is important.. actually .. I know that it is important to maintain the blood sugar levels.. if the blood sugar levels drop the body will see the active tissues .. meaning muscle tissue as a stress.. WHY ⁉️.. it cannot be fed.. so the body will eliminate it replacing it with adipose/fat tissue.. this is a survival mechanism.. we want to keep our active tissues.. as they are the ones burning the calories .. when the blood sugar drops the liver takes over trying to make glucose for the rest of the body.. this process is called Gluconeogenesis.. making sugar from non-sugar nutrients.. The glucose produced passes into the blood to supply other tissues .. yes the body will break down the fatty acids and eventually use those too as they will be turned into glucose ..however the body's metabolic processes do not work so organized.. it is alittle more chaotic.. meaning as nutrients come available they are used.. there is many metabolic processes that under go to bring out the formation of the new glucose molecule.. yes weight will be lost.. however in the process the metabolism will be decreased.. as the active tissues will be lost.. lowering the rate of calorie burning and causing the likelihood of the regaining of the weight..

I believe feeding the body is the way to go.. which everyone should love.. we just need to be conscious of the foods that we are taking in.. the log can do wonders.. eat every few hours.. 3-4 small meals as you will be eating again shortly.. increase your activity.. moderately intense walks can cause EPOC.. excess post exercise oxygen consumption .. I don't mean to get nerdy.. but I am .. EPOC= is a condition where your body went into an oxygen debt during the times of increased activity .. so after the activity you.. your self .. are consuming oxygen at a higher rate trying to clear out the lactic acid that was produced within the muscle tissue during the times when oxygen wasn't available .. this increases your metabolism for a time being after your exercise about .. the Time really depends on the intensity along with the duration of the activity .. however.. if you take walks say 3-10 minute walks through out the day you can use this to your advantage .. of course you need to consume healthy foods .. which will automatically decrease your calorie consumption .. and the increased activity will increase your calorie expenditure .. there is so much more.. just ask..
