First off I wanted to say hello to everyone =)

I had a baby a little over a year ago. I put on a lot of weight and I am still trying to lose some of it. Technically I am 10 lbs over weight although I don't really look like it. I have always been self conscious and have struggled with anorexia in the past. I am not looking to be super skinny. I just want to be out of the over weight category.
I work full time and don't have much help at home. I do have a Wii Fit. I do 30 minutes of step aerobics and another 30 of strength training.. The only days that I really have time to do that is Fri, Sat, and Sun. When I get home from work I have to do all the mommy stuff and but the time the baby is asleep I am exhausted and ready for bed myself. Is a hour a day those three days going to give me any results? My doctor suggested green tea. I don't like tea so I bought Green tea pills. They are not the diet pills just green tea. I am trying my best to do this a healthy way. Normally I would take my baby for a walk and stuff like that but it is winter in PA and really cold. Any suggestions would help. Just please no rude ones =)

Hello and welcome to the site. I'm in PA too. This winter really hasn't been all that bad here, but I'm in the Philadelphia suburbs. Where are you?

As for your question, if you can only muster up exercise on those days during the week, it's better than nothing. But it sounds like you're relying heavily on exercise to 'cure' your problem. That's a poor path to be on if you're expecting weight loss.

Might it work?

Sure.

Do I think it will?

Probably not unless you start putting much more emphasis on nutrition. In my experience, you can't out exercise a poor diet.

I can see why you cant take the baby out in the cold, even if the weather isn't too bad you can't have a young baby sitting in a stroller in the cold for any lengthy period. I do think adding 3 hours of exercise to your schedule will have some sort of effect on your weight and health, though the extent of that is hard to tell. If you have struggled with anorexia, you probably know all about cutting calories way down. That is something you will want to avoid as it never works out so well in the long run and wont be good for the baby. But like Steve alluded to, its sort of hard to figure anything further out without having any idea of what you're eating.

In definately agree with Steve that you need to have good nutrition. If you exercise for only those 3 days but you're eating terrible all week, it won't do you any good. But if you eat great, whole grains, fruits and veggies, low fat dairy and then you exercise on top of that, you'll have a much greater chance at success! Then also, maybe that type of food will help give you more energy and maybe you'd be able to add another half hour here or there.

plus think of it this way if u get in the habit of eating healthy, u'd also be setting a good lifestyle for ur baby when ur baby is growing up... with proper food i think three hours a week is more than the work out u'll need to lose the 10 pounds (i hear the WII aerobics is pretty intense)

welcome to the forum :)
