Hi. My name's Steve Troutman and I'm a forumaholic.

Well I used to be anyhow. In fact, as evidenced by my post count, I used to spend a lot of time on this very forum. Heck, I think I'm still a moderator. Those days are long gone, however. My wife and I had our first child. We're expecting our second in June. My business really exploded. Priorities have changed, simply put.
That said, I do miss socializing on forums such as this. I can see a lot has changed and I'm wondering if the community vibe has changed. Time will tell I suppose. But I figured I'd reintroduce myself since I'm sure there are a lot of new faces. Wait... are you new faces or are you now regulars and I'm the new face?
As noted above, my name is Steve Troutman. I'm a fitness consultant, for lack of a better term. I'm generally very easy going these days - not egotistical which seems to be the norm as far as most fitness "professionals" go.
I simply enjoy conversing with like minded people, helping and learning where I can. My tenure in this industry is chock full of mistakes. Thankfully they're mistakes that I've learned from that allowed me to develope a flexible, productive model that works for the people I deal with. It's far from perfect. It's not rigid. And in reality, I'm hesitant to call it a model given that fact that it can look entirely different from one person to the next.
I suppose at its foundation is evidence based advice and individualization. Everything else is dynamic. For this reason, you'll likely never see my selling some generalized program to the masses or some other such nonsense.
Make no mistake... I'm still learning. That will never stop. If it's not from an academic journal or a book, it's from a client interaction or a conversation on a forum such as this.
I think that's what keeps me passionate. There are endless opportunities to learn in this field. Just when you think you have things figured out, you meet someone who turns everything on its head and forces you to start from scratch. Well almost from scratch.
Anyhow, sorry for the rambling. I look forward to re-familiarizing myself with the community and thanks in advance for having me back.
