I'm New and Needy

Hi, So it's come down to this for me. I've decided to do something about my body because i'm not happy anymore. That was the first big step for me. I now need to get motivated to actually DO something about it.
I'll start with the basics. I'm 21, 5'6" and 160 lbs. In January I weighed 185 and started working at a factory. Because I was active for 8 hours straight and climbed up and down so many stairs I lost 25 lbs. I broke the 160 mark over the summer and dropped to 155, only to gain that weight right back. I would go running 3 times a week but that really put a strain on my body. I'm decently large chested and would wear two sport bras and a tank top with a built in bra and would still be sore the next day.
I have bi-polar and find it hard to get motivated to work out. I don't have the money to go to the gym but my parents have an at home gym with weights and a balance ball. If anyone can suggest anything that will get me motivated i would really appreciate it. My goal is 125 and by my calculations I need to lose 2 lbs a week for 4.5 months to reach that. Hopefully someone can help me :) Christy

Hey there!

I'm a Newb as well and just thought I'd say "hi."

Would a workout video be an option for you? I just got Turbo Jam and although I only did the intro and the 20 minute workout my thighs and tummy are sore. Plus there's only the initial investment of the dvd.

160 from 185 is an amazing step in the right direction! If you were able to lose that, you should definitely be able to lose those other pounds!

Welcome to the forum!! You can do it!!

Have you looked into or yet? They can really help you get started.

Good Luck!! :D:D:D

Thanks

Thank you both :)
I actually have a few of the power 90 videos and I have a friend that used them and lost a lot of weight. I hate working out in front of people though... that seems to be my big issue. I feel like they're going to judge me or laugh at me. I was feeling pretty down about it until I read the posts on this site. They MADE me WANT to join here because everyone seems so supportive of each other. That made me feel like I could belong. So thanks for the advice, I'm looking those websites up now :)

Welcome! Deciding it's time to lose is a big step, so you're already on your way. If running hurts to much, try just walking. Doesn't burn as many calories, but something is better than nothing. If you have access to a gym, elliptical trainers are very non-jarring. Are you wearing one of those sports bras with the underwire? My boobs aren't huge, but I swear by them. Much better support.

You and me both! I absolutely hate it- even if it's around my sweetie, it's just completely mortifying. I've made a deal with him though- he gets to sleep in while I work out. The sad thing is that I have to get up a little early, but if I can just roll out of bed and drag myself to the television I'm good to go. Those first steps are the most painful.
