I'm new to this forum, but certainly an oldie when it comes to struggling with weight and food.
I've struggled with my weight and food for as long as I can remember. I yo-yo'ed a lot, mostly creeping up. My top weight was 260 in 1999. I joined a 12 step group and lost a lot of weight and got divorced in 2001 - I was married to Mr. Wrong and the weight loss and self esteem increase gave me the courage to leave him. I "maintained" my weightloss for some time, ranging from about 135-145 for several years.
I got remarried in 2005 to the love of my life and the weight started to slowly creep up. We decided to try to get pregnant in 2007. I had two miscarriages, my weight continued to creep up (I was overeating to get through the miscarriages). I got pregnant a 3rd time and was at about 180. The pregnancy took and my weight continued to go up. I weighed in at 226 when we had our baby boy on March 27, 2008.
After giving birth, I dropped almost 30 pounds pretty quickly and effortlessly. Then I got severe postpartum depression, which was a complete nightmare. I am finally doing better in the postpartum depression arena and decided I really need to buckle down and do something about my weight. I do not feel good physically at this weight and am embarrassed by how I look, plus I am not young anymore and heart disease runs in my family. I want to be a normal body size and set a good example of eating habits and exercise for my little boy. Oh yeah, I want to look good for my husband, too, although he loves me no matter what (thank God).
My Stats
Age: 36
Height: 5' 3.5"
Pants Size: 14 (a tight 14)
Current Weight: 200 (almost 3 months postpartum)
Goal Weight: 145-150
