I'm looking for some motivation!

Hey there!

I'm terribly new at weight loss forums, but I figured enough is enough.
I've tried to get myself motivated on my own for quite some time now, it.. sort of works? But I have no stick-to-it-ness.

I've lost about 15 lbs on my own already since April, but I need to lose about 60 more to be at my ideal weight. And a lot more consistently that what i'm doing.

I let myself get way too out of control. I work full time in a weight loss clinic, however, I think that's what de-motivates me. I hear all my clients excuses and I start to form the same ones..

I think I just need motivation. I know where I want to be, and I need to stop letting excuses get in the way.

Anyone else in the same boat?

Do you know how I motivate new members at my martial arts school? Social pressure! When they see how hard their new friends are training, they want to do the same. Find some friends that like working out :)

Yes I am completely in the same boat so I totally hear where you are coming from. I need motivation and encouragement. I do fine by myself for 2-3wks then I just lose all hope.
I'm 5ft 5" and weight 220lbs so have a lot to lose. For now though I have 28days to make some serious changes and make myself look and feel better and don't really know how to go about this. I was hoping to find some hints and tips in respect of exercise like what I should be doing and when etc but so no-one's commented on my post so i'm no further forward unfortunately.
But you've lost 15lbs that's fantastic. How have you done this?

This is actually a really good idea!
So far I've just found classes at my gym that I enjoy, and im starting kickboxing hopefully tomorrow, so hopefully this helps!

Hi everybody!Even I would like to know what you do at the weight loss clinic....cos exercises are not my type.I prefer something practical for healthy weight loss.Anybody tried hcg diet plans?

Hey!

Our clinic is all about proper food intake and balancing your body with a high quality multivitamin.

Working out isn't the key, it's such a motivator though! Who wants to work out for 2 hours then eat fast food?

I don't know too too much about the HCG diet, but I do know that alot of our clients that come into the clinic previously tried the diet. As long as there's not an insane caloric deficiency then I can't see it being too unhealthy, but I'll look more into it for you.

Honestly, taking a look at what I eat.

I'm not going to lie, losing the weight was easy once I found a bit of a motivational tool.
I went to the gym near my house, and without hesitation said "sign me up" now im paying for something out of pocket, and I want to use it since im paying for it!

I've made time and put myself first. I never noticed how many calories I was eating, or how much fast food until I sat down and really took a look at it.

I started 3 years ago at 268 lbs. I got down to 217, and couldnt lose another pound. I'm at 198 now, and would like to see myself at 140 by the end of the year. I think for my height that'll be a healthy weight, and hey, saying ive lost 128 lbs wont be so bad either!

It's a challenge, but it's doable! Find something (or someone in my case) who motivates you! & set smaller goals.
In my mind, being at 268 and wanting to be at 140 was impossible. 128 lbs seemed so unrealistic. My new goal for the summer is 175. It's alot more achievable! Ill work on the remaining 35 when I get to it :)
