I'm interviewing.....

I've never had the guts to actually ask a question over there.. to use my favorite visual -I'd feel like the dumb fat kid sitting in the corner who eats paste... :D

How does he get ideas for his latest project? based on what his membership base is asking? and based on the results of the 'experiments' does he ever change what he's writing? (the question made perfect sense in my head - but not sure it came out that way.. )

What ya'll do is just fascinating to me...

They can be a rough bunch. I don't post there much except for when I have a question for Lyle. There are a few others there who are beyond intelligent too that I will look to for information now and again. There are a few researchers there that's nice to have in my back pocket since I don't do all that much research anymore myself.

H
ow does he get ideas for his latest project? based on what his membership base is asking?

I think it's more by what he's observing. I've seen him start threads asking for experiences from members wrt whatever is on his mind. If he finds some trends he'll start doing hardcore research and see what emerges. I've seen him in action with this.

Or, being as smart as he is, he'll think of an idea and than pitch it to the members there. Once they test run it he'll know if it's worthy of a project.

There might be more from it but that's been my observation.

I like this question... if I have the time I think I'll ask it too. It depends on whether or not we guide the convo back to the topic of Lyle. Right now we're in some heavy training discussion and then we'll move on to nutrition.

and based on the results of the 'experiments' does he ever change what he's writing? (

I think once he's writing he is pretty set on research and empirical info.

But I've seen him change his mind or ideas based on feedback from the forum.

With regards to nutrition and I'm not sure how to phrase the question..

is there a top ten list of foods that every person who's trying to reduce fat should get in their diet on a regular basis and those that they should avoid.

Does that list change based on gender and/or age and/or circumstances (for instances if a person has 100lbs to lose is that list different than the person who has 15lbs to lose?

See, having the benefit of experience with Lyle for a number of years, I can tell you his answers to these questions.

He would most likely say no since he's the largest promoter I know of suggesting adequate protein, adequate EFAs and beyond that it's completely dependent on the individual and goals.

Lyle hates making food lists.

Haha, no... you've offered up some good ideas. I particularly like the question concerning his research... I think I'll try to work that in.
