I'm interviewing.....

Ask him: "what is the best way to lose weight? lol j/k

I don't think I could think of anything to ask him that would be better than what I am sure you will come up with though.

If you are asking for interview candidates though my pick would be Ross Enamait. Billy Rush is a good one to. I think they would be good interviews.

Ross would definitely be a quality interview. I'm not in contact with him but that doesn't mean he wouldn't be up for it. The beauty is once I interview the likes of Lyle and Tom, people won't be so hesitant to 'step up.'

I haven't followed Rush.

I think you've got enough of a reputation on the web for being a principaled person who's not into bs'ing people -that I don't think anyone with any sense would have any issues with giving you some of their time...

I appreciate that Mal.

The problem is, I refuse to sell out. A lot of the names I'd like to interview are in part of a big 'circle jerk' of trainers and authors who pimp eachothers products. It's the same damn testimonials on each site from the same people. And what's worse is they all seem to create products just to sell and make money... not to educate. They rehash the same old BS.

Like Lyle for instance, he writes about different things in each of his books and they're all useful and current.

Most aren't like that.

And to my point finally... many of the people I'd like to interview wouldn't give me the time of day b/c I'm a 'nobody' in when viewed with their glasses on. Right or wrong, that's how this industry has evolved on the net. And I don't care too much, as long as I never get drug into it all.

That's the exact point I was trying to make.. or had in my head and couldn't vocalize...

What I know of your character you won't be drawn into that -however, perception is some people's reality and Iwouldn't want to see you associated with the likes of some...

Integrity means more to me than the bottom line... but you knew that...

I realize that this will be a corner of your business and you aren't puttiing all your eggs in the testimonials basket -- but - eh...

I've seen the same names over and over again... and I tend to just roll my eyes and move on when i see them... if it's new information well fabulous...

One thing you've mentioned a few times is ART and your chiropracter - perhaps an interview about that or more information presented about that woudl be intersting.

and while I don't personally get inspired or motivated by other people's before and afters - some of your success stories would be interesting to see as interviews... real people that you've worked with that have made changes to themselves... in a healthy manner... there's too many before and afters on the web that were achieved by not using the healthiest m eans possible...

I don't want any testimonials from other professionals. That seems to be what causes the big circle jerk, once you start doing that. Not always, but usually.

We'll have some before and afters from clients. I'm not sure if we'll have that up for the start or not... I'd rather it mostly clients from the Internet since that's our main focus. We have some B&As of current clients but they were all hands on.

I have some B&As of some people I'm helping via the Internet now but they wouldn't want me to post their pictures... most were morbidly obese and now they're just obese. So they're really not afters....

yet.

That's a fantastic idea.

We're thinking about having blogs for those clients who would want to maintain one outlining their journeys. But who knows if that will ever become. But interviewing some existing clients is definitely a great idea.

and not just Oh Steve and Gordy are great - sign up withthem ... type interviews - gettig the good the bad the ugly would much better... but you know that and I'm not telling you anything you don't already know...

I really value honesty so trust me, I have no intentions on skewing reality to match some money-scamming agenda. You know me, but most others do not and though I realize I'm going to be lumped into the broad category of "Internet Trainers" but I'm going to do my best to set myself apart. If it's noticed... great. If not, it's understandable considering the status of this industry. As long as I'm reaching my clients, that's all that really matters to me.

Steve, I apologize for this being completely unrelated to the topic, but where does the quote in your signature, "slow motion is better than no motion," come from? I've been telling myself that since I started changing my life and before I found these forums. They're great words to live by, not just in healthy, but in everything.

I can't remember where I saw that. I usually catalog quotes I find too, but that one I didn't.

ooooh I do have a question for lyle :)

Is he still training for the Olympics and what does he think his chances areofmaking teh team? (that's very coolby the way - i guess he thinks his chancesare good otherwise he wouldn't be training but ishe still training?

Last I heard he doesn't believe he'll make it. But he figured he'll train like he's going to and whatever happens happens. I'll probably work this into the intro question though.

If he makes the team -then there's always Dancing with the Stars in his future... :D that should be added incentive..:D (i think I read thata one fo the short track speed skaters was on that show..:D

yea that... we had hoped for early june but it's a lot more work than we expected.

since oyu said you've started the interview process... :)

1. How goes the olympic quest
2. When's he coming to pick me up for our date :)

Serious question though...

He's pretty damn smart and explains what he knows in a fairly accessible way -how does he do his research.. and what's coming next for him...

Haha, we've already covered what's next for him.

I do like the question, "how does he do his research." I think I know his answer but I think I'll work it into one of my questions

Thanks

or who in the industry (either health, fitness, something else) does he trust...

Does he use himself as aguinea pig on his methods?
