I'm here to save myself.

Hello all.

My weight has always been one of my biggest problems, yet I've always managed to live with it. I've always had great confidence in myself and my abilities, but something has recently changed. I woke up a few mornings ago and realized that my weight was holding me back. I'm a mother of a beautiful 8-month-old little girl, and here I am killing myself with obesity/overeating/and extremely low self-esteem.

I'm ready for a major change, but I can't do this alone. I need help and motivation, and for you all to kick my ass into gear.

Any takers?

You can do it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Welcome,
I am very glad to see that you are ready to take your life back. It is a difficult task to change long held habits, but you sound as if you are motivated. I wish you the best of luck on your journey towards a healthy life. You have a new motivation to achieve this goal. And remember that by taking your health into your own hands you will teach your daughter the most valuable lesson in life... love yourself enough to take care of you. Good health habits learned young will help her to set a pattern so hopefully she will never have to face the challenge that is before you now. :seeya:

Well, Youv'e made the first step.

I can tell you that I have lost a lot of weight in the past at one point 80 -90 pounds. When you got to that point and more likely even before you feel so much better and confidence really does come back. I noticed the difference so much. Pitty i didn't stick to my weight and nearly back to square one again. But this time it's staying off.

love the title you've chosen... and it's so fitting - only you can doit :)

Welcome ot the forum - spend some time reading the stickied threads -they'll help youo formulate a plan that you can stick with for the rest of your life... and do ask questions if you've got 'em

Welcome KDbug. Being an active involved mother to your baby girl should be a great incentive. She can also be part of your workout while bonding. Doing baby lifts (using that bundle of joy as your weights), going for walks, visiting the park, etc.

Welcome to the forum and I hope you find the same support and inspiration here that I have. Good luck on your journey to a better you!

Thanks guys. I took "before" pictures of myself this morning and was astounded. I've avoided being in front of the camera for so long and it was a big smack in the face. Seeing yourself in a picture is way different than looking at yourself in a mirror.

I don't know how I've let myself get this way.

Oh, I definitely plan on using my babe as a workout partner. I have a carrier so that I can "wear" her on my walks -- adds a pretty 20 lbs! :D

you are where you are... and you're working on changing that...

I'd also take a set of measurements as well - those will often change before the scale does... and helps to keep you moving forward..

I had a similar "wake up and realize what you've become" moment. I really needed that to get my butt in gear. It's very motivating!
