ok im 18 yrs old. weigh... 185 lbs.. what im doing now is i have 2 peices of fruit for breakfast, for lunch and supper i have these shakes i bought that are " high protine meal supliments" (290 cals each(580 totalish) i got the high protine ones cuz i go to the gym every day and i hear protine helps build stamina and repair muscle tissue faster. my workout at gym goes as follows: stretch for 5 min, go on the cycle at hard setting for 30-45min, and do a weight lifting routine that i have setup, my goal on the bike is to lose the majority of the cals i take in for the day, after 30-45min i burn off between 500-600 cals. I wanna know if burning off most/all my daily cals is harmful in any way. Im also taking natural pills that boost matabolism (sorry for my bad spelling), control my apitite, and burn fat.

I have not tried protein shakes, but your exercise looks good....
I wish I would have started when I was 18, then I wouldnt be when I am now!
But, hopefully someone with more knowledge will be able to answer these q's for ya!
Good Luck!
also, make sure you are drinking plenty of water!

Well, burning more calories than you eat is the way to lose weight, however, if you only take in 600 calories a day, soon your metabolism is going to drop. Your body will start trying to protect itself from starvation and it will start holding onto the fat. And start using muscle for energy. You should keep your calorie intake between 1000 to 1200 per day. Divide it up into 5 or 6 small meals or 3 meals and 2 or 3 small snacks. this will keep your metabolism rate up all day. I agree that your excercise plans look great! Remember that your body burns calories all the time, not just when your excercising. Added to what you burn in your workout, it takes energy just to breathe, digest, even for your brain to function. If you go to fitday.com You can set up a chart where you put in all the activity you do and everything you eat each day and you can monitor how you're doing. Make sure that your diet is providing you with a good balance of carbs/protein/fat. Yes you still need some fat in your diet. It's realy cool, because you can see the total calories you really burn through the day. It's divided up between your activities and your basal metablolism(that's what your body does by itself) With the super low calories you're talking about, you may lose quite a few pounds in a very short time, but after that weight loss will stop. Check out the "fitday.com" It's free and it only takes a few minutes a day to keep it up and monitor your progress. I use it every day, and I really have learned alot from it. Just my 2 cents!!! Good luck and remember "Be healthy, not just skinny!"

lol i should clarify. im not taking in JUST 600 cals a day, i do have mini snacks once and awhile, like today i had a fruit cup from wendy's after supper, and after lunch i had a side salad. I have a few light snacks throughout the day

Okay, I'd try switching to a shake in the morning, PLUS a fruit (or something else solid an nutritious, like a hard boiled egg white or something, stay away from yolks, they carry a LOT of calories), a shake for lunch, plus maybe a chicken salad or a chicken sandwhich. Maybe a fruit too, or a veggie. For dinner..er...well, that's pretty much open to whatever (healthy wise).

Try and consume most of your calories early on in the day. And, depending on your height, try and consume more than 1000 calories...preferrably closer to 1500 calories.

Another tip, when you drink water, make it ice water. Your body burns more calories trying to make it warmer.

your cardio looks good, though I, personally, would take it down some...to maybe 30 minutes. but if you can do the 45, that's awesome!

Just curious, but which supplemants are you taking? I'm using the mega t green tea, and everyonce and a while I'll use vitamin B 6 and Chromium something or another.

When you go to the Gym, do you do the exact same thing everyday? Or do you work one area one day, another area the next and so on? If it's the former, I'd suggest breaking it up some, or changing it around to where you do one routine one day (working all areas) and then switch up the order the next day, and so on.
