Hey Everyone!
I'm new here and excited about meeting some awesome people that are on the same road as myself or even those who have had amazing results! I've been at it for about a month, have had some great results with what I'm doing but I am always open to what else is out there. I'm really particular about losing weight the right way...no fad diets or unhealthy lifestyle changes, just the pure old fashion portion control, clean eating, and sweating in the gym
I understand that everyone is not the same, but this is what I strive to do in my weight loss journey. I am losing the weight to not only look awesome, but for this very special and important thing called my heart. I want to loss weight, feel great, and be much more healthier than I was before starting my journey. So far, I am loving the process, blogging like crazy documenting EVERYTHING, and I've just hit the curve where I'm feeling great!
I just learned that my new revamped lifestyle has made me feel super awesome even emotionally, and for that alone I don't want to ever give it up! I made a very important decision about 30 days ago to let go of my unhealthy eating and non-activity, and replace it with qualified people that were in my "best" interest. So I yielded a nutritionist...a personal trainer, and a new attitude about fitness and eating. This was one of the best decisions I made in my life!
I learned so much just in the month that I made lifestyle changes, and I plan on continuing on! I didn't even realize that food could be as yummy as it is and be good for you at the same time. So now I'm more of a cook than I was before. I always was sure that my kids ate very, very healthy...lots of veggies, "real" whole grains, low sodium and sugary foods, and tons of good 'ole fashion H2O. But what I failed to do is take care of me, too. Taco Bell was my best friend...or should I say worse enemy. Cheesy, greasy pizza was the norm for me, and belly busting starch infested chinese fast food was my idea of a great meal! Now with this new and improved me, I can take all those things that I liked the most, and enjoy alternatives just as much!
I learned how to cook differently, control my portions, and still enjoy food all at the same time!
What really made me change?
Shortly before I made this decision, my husband had a serious condition that almost cost him his life. I then made the decision to do something that would make a difference in my life and my family's life, and improve the quality of life that I had and shared with them. This is more than shedding a few pounds for me. This is me facing a challenge that I've avoided for years. My motivation? My family, my children, and of course the love I have for me!
My starting weight: 215 pounds
My goal weight: 150 pounds
My weight today: 209 pounds and counting down
I'm super happy to be here among others that are going through this journey too, and look forward to meeting all of you. You know what they say "Strength is in numbers"!
