Hey everyone,

I used to come to this site pretty often a few years ago but like usual, I fell off the wagon, life got the in the way and my weight/health took a backseat. Since early January I've began a new weightloss challenge...to lose 50 lbs by July 31! I know I can do it! I always look for weightloss websites for feedback, motivation or tips and I always come back here so I'm sticking around for a while!

Goodluck to everyone else on their weightloss journey, it's not easy but we can do it!

Welcome back!

This site is really good... keep me motivated every day.... When you are dieting on your own... Sometimes it's hard to stick on it.

Good luck with your new journey!

Thanks for the comments!

So far so good...I think I'm going to start a journal now too. I've had a look around and joined some challenges and I think a journal will really help me keep on track! :)

Just a word of caution for you - to keep your goal and expectation reasonable.. 50lbs in just about 6 months given your current weight is a lot to shoot for - a reasonable goal is 1 percent of your body weight a week.... some weeks you might get rewarded with more, some weeks you might end up with less - it just works out that way... our bodies don't always cooperate :D especially the lower your weight gets...

Really focus on the building new habits and changing your existing habits instead of just a number on the scale...

yeah, you're definitely right! I'm trying to stay more focused on feeling stronger and looking better/healthier. I'm realizing now that I probably wont lose 2-3 lbs a week and some weeks I'll plateau for sure. As a measure of how well I'm doing, I've been doing some exercise dvd's and I'm able to do more of the moves without modifications :D so I'm pretty proud about that, even though it looks like I might not lose much weight this week!

Thanks for the advice :)
