Greetings all, been years since I have been here.
A little history, weighed 251 in 06, dropped to 180 in just over a year, relaxed a little, hovered at about 200 for another year or two, then relaxed too much... up to 260 currently.
Just had a birthday a bit ago, decided this was going to be my task for the year. I know I don't have the time to work out quite like i did 5 years ago, but this weight is coming off one way or another. I've lost just about all muscle tone, got love handles and a belly that is just not flattering.
My little avatar on here did it for me, I felt like superman years ago. Like i could litterally jump in front of traffic and the car would crash into me and I would walk away unscathed. It was an incredible feeling. I want it back.
I just joined a gym here in town today. I have been eating healthier the last 2 weeks kinda trying to get something rolling, but diet alone isnt going to fix this body. I need some weights and some running, I am however dreading the first workouts. I'm going to really have to concertrate on not lifting to failure, It's about the only way I've ever known to lift...HARD...but when you've been out of the game 2 years, I know I'm not gonna be able to walk or lift my arms if I don't take a careful approach.
Anyways, just thought I would say hi, don't know if any of the old guys are still around on this forum, but you were a lot of help before and I am sure I will have some questions as the road goes on. I guess I have a question right now but am fearful of the responses! I did it the right way the last time I cut, clean foods, water, 1 or 2 work outs a day. Here lately, I have had the urges to jump on a program and try and take a shortcut. P90X, cleanses, diet pills, you name it...I've thought about it. I know most of it is bull****, but I almost feel like the only reason those things work (maybe specifically diet pills and cleanses) is because you got to spend 80-200 bucks and then its maybe more psycological, you know you just wasted money but now you are going to skip the friday lunch at applebees, etc etc.
So, I guess I just answered my own question, someone knock some sense into me, but is something like an advocare 24 day challenge worth wasting money on to get a quick 10 pounds off and jump start this cut?
Cheers,
fat man
