Hey there, Im new and am introducing myself.
Little background.
Ive been heavyset all my life.
In May of 2007, I changed jobs to Driving a Bus. When I started I weighed 250lb
(Im 6'1, and have a larger build....so chunky..not obese) By Feburary I found myself Weighing in at 280lb. Well I decided to take action.
I picked up a calorie counting program....and was off (I was using VidaOne at that time...am now using FitDay)
Well by the first week of June I was down to 237. This was a result of a combination of diet and excersize. But I hit a plataue. By the end of June I was still 237. So I decided to slowly work my food intake back up. (I was projected to loose about 1200 calories a day) So I slowly bumped it back up to a maintaining level. And as of Aug 15th I was still 237.
On the 15th I started a new plan... Based on my FitDay Calculations, my lifestyle gives me apx 2700calories/ day to maintain before factoring in my excersize routine. ( l drive for a living sooo lots of sitting), So I have planned a 900 calorie loss per day (I want 200lb by christmas). In the last 2 weeks I have lost 4.5 lb. and am now 232.5.
On my latest Fit test (offered thru my work with a professional trainer) I reached a final score of "Fit". Which surprised me as my BMI rates me as OBESE. But as I have a heavy build, my BMI is wayyyy off.
my Body Fat % was at 18% when I has 237....so it should be pretty close to that now.
So here I am today. 232.5lb wanting to get to 200. And I am going to come here and help/get help as needed. As I find support such as this is a critical part of my plan.
If you have any questions about my past success, and strategies to have kept it off. Or have any advice, as I am kind of running thru this blind.
I do have a lot of great little recipies that can give a calorie counter a big tasty meal, with a minimal calorie impact.
Anyway....
