I'm Always HUNGRY!

Alright here's the deal...
I'm always hungry and tired and feel like I never have enough to eat or too much to eat. I have 6 meals a day which turn out to be 3 main meals and 3 snaks or more............ Even when I'm not hungry I tend to eat because I feel like having it or I want something in me and I just can't pull myself to not having it. What can I do? I just my abs to show damnit! Can someone help me?

take hydroxycut or something like it, to help calm down cravings...and drink lotssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss of water! ;) ...sorry i couldnt help more! :)

write down what your eating.
try eating more protein type feeds they are more filling so you might not feel as hungry. :D

I have the same problem. A nutritionist friend of mine told me to try getting more protein in the morning, so I started putting about half a scoop of protein powder into my cereal or shake or whatever I'm eating. It really does seem to help.

I agree with drinking a lot of water but I don't agree with suggesting Hydroxycut (or any ephedra based product) as an appetite suppressant. These products increase your heart rate and core body temperature and, as such, should only be taken with your eyes wide open (and in many cases, with medical advice first). You know nothing about this poster medically so, I consider that to be irresponsible advice! Aside from that, what happens when they stop taking it? Thats right, the appetite returns with a vengeance and the problem becomes worse.

Reduction in appetite when you start training is something that happens gradually if you're used to eating whatever you want, whenever you want. In many cases its simply a matter of willpower. However, it may have something to do with what you are eating. Can you post a days typical diet?

There is also the possibility that you may have an eating disorder of some kind, I have heard of conditions where the sufferer never feels full and is therefore always hungry. I don't know too much about it but, its an extreme condition and if you think that might be you, I would get it checked out.

Watch the Carbs

Be careful you're not eating too many carbs. Carbs, especially simple ones, tend to have a rebound effect and make you hungry. As suggested, lean protein helps. And don't forget about healthy fats--these will make you feel full for longer periods of time. One trick I use is to eat a handful of almonds a couple times a day. Works like a charm.

Hydroxycut no longer is made with ephedra, so that isn't an issue. But it does have a stimulant effect. You really want to go for an appetite suppressant. In Control is a good one.

i looked at what you eat as well and i agree with what kitty said. definitely not enough protein and WAY too many carbs. carbs don't fill you up for long at all. chances are, you're hungry again after about 60 minutes after you eat, right? that's how i feel after eating a carby meal.

once i changed my diet to eating less carbs and more protein i was amazed at how much fuller i felt for longer! i also make sure i have at least 2 litres of water a day, but it's usually more than that - sipping water throughout the day helps keep hunger at bay too.

also, what kitty says - you may not be eating enough. i don't know your stats or an estimate of your BMR though so it's hard to say.

a muesli bar isn't a meal, even if it's just a "snack". an apple and some veg certainly isn't a meal either! no wonder you're hungry all the time. i would be too. get rid of the muesli bar and have some tuna or chicken or turkey or salmon or anything high in protein along with some veg and maybe wholemeal bread or something. same with the apple & veg. try cottage cheese or quark with something - maybe nuts?.

also you don't seem to be gettin much fat. i used to be fat-phobic cos of the whole "eat fat then you get fat" rubbish that some people go on about. but it's just that - rubbish! eat more fish and have some nuts and seeds throughout the day. dont go mad on the nuts and seeds tho cos they are high in calories. have a palmful instead of a handful (sprinkle seeds on a salad?) - a pretty small amount but does wonders for getting those EFAs. you could also supplement with fish oil or flax oil. my fat intake is now about a third of my daily calories. don't be scared of it!

i would say that protien is definately a great filler to not be hungry, and also so it water, perhaps try drinking a glass of water whenever u have a craving, ive noticed its helped calm my cravings down for the most part.

probably not enough protein or healthy fat.
and stuff that contains high fructose corn syrup...HFCS is known to stunt the body's production of the 'I'm full' hormone...so the more HFCS you consume, the hungrier you stay.
and, most 'fat free' stuff is loaded with HFCS since its a texture enhancer, and helps replace the smoothness of the food texture when fat is removed.

I just wanted to say this... carbs aren't always bad... in terms of hunger... studies have shown that a foods wieght plays an important role in determining the satiating affect of food. In fact a plain baked potatoe is one of the foods that make people feel the most full...

Now in terms of lasting fullness... I have to agree low carb does prevent the rebound effect of carbs... But I have also found that two apples for lunch makes me not hungry for dinner... especially if I am drinking a bunch of water...

check this out...
