Hey all my name is sammi, i'm 23 and weigh around 13/14 stone more so creeping up to the higher.

i am now struggling to keep up my confidence and would like to lose some weight, if i just ignore it hoping it will go away i'm sure that will be the start of my downfall.

went shopping yesterday for some smart interview clothes and was shocked, hopefully it has given me the kick to get really stuck in with this but needing the motivation from you guys when i struggle.

hope to make some new friends and help others aswell

Hi amy, i plan to use sheer will power to not put bad choices into my mouth :)

Exercise most days and keep a diary hoping to see a change in diet and in me.
 
Have you considered calorie counting? Will power is one thing, but most of us don't have heaps of it. I get to lose weight, eat enough to satisfy my (enormous) appetite, and eat "bad" food more often than you might think. It's all about the numbers (the nutrition's important for other reasons, I try to stick to that too). Apart from "don't eat over your set amount per day", there are no rules- if you're happy eating your day's allowance in chocolate, you can (you'll lose weight- there was a guy who proved it on a "twinkie diet"- but it won't be good for you).
 
thank you for your suggestion, I dont think that calorie counting is the right way for me, i think that getting bogged down with all those numbers would just confuse me, i will try it though. i may have a few weeks trying out different styles.
