I'm a gym junkie trapped in a junk food junkie's body

Hi everyone,

I am new to this forum thing, but I am at my wit's end. I am a personal trainer. I know how to work out, and I LOVE to work out. My problem is my eating. I know what I should be eating, but I just can't stop eating the crap!!! I need help!! I am at my all-time highest weight, and I feel fat and gross.

Any suggestions???

Well, since your a personal trainer there isnt going to be any junk food lying around your work place, which is a big plus. Out of sight out of mind is how i look at it, if your cupboards have burgers, chips and chocolate in them its going to be tempting. Flush out all your crappy food and drink and get plenty of chicken, fish and veggies. Also, find a fruit that you love and just use that if you feel tempted to snack. I munch on apples nearly all day! i cant get enough of them :p

And drink loads of water, try and get a filter jug or something so the water tastes fresh, clean and ice cold. It makes it much more tastier! :p

That's ok...

I'm a walking period trapped in a Stay Puft Marshmallow Man body. Seriously, I only interact with females like once a month and, when I do, I usually just irritate the shit out of them. They always get all moody and pissed off when I'm around and do just about anything to pretend that I'm not there. But, everyone knows that I am, because the women complain about how bad they can't wait for me to go away. Then, the second I finally give in and leave, they are happier than pigs in shit.

Life is confusing.
 
I know I can't eat the junk food if I don't buy it, but I'm also a shopaholic. I guess I feel like if I work out so hard, I should be able to indulge once in a while. My problem is self-control. Sometimes I have lots of it, other times I'm like a druggie--I need a fix. I am hoping this forum will do me some good--a distraction for when I'm feeling out of control.

I taught a step class this morning, so I'm off to a good start. I'm meeting a friend for lunch at Tropical Smoothie Cafe. I get my smoothie with Splenda, so it is around 200 calories. I will either order a sandwich or a salad. I tried to go online to get the calorie/fat content of their sandwiches, but TSC has changed their menu, and the new items aren't listed.

I am feeling in control, so I think I will do okay.
 
I'm having a lot of luck with the biggest loser cookbook because you eat healthy versions of your favorite foods. I still get to eat pizza, hot dogs, hamburgers and even get dessert at night and have managed to lose almost twenty pounds in four weeks. Just look for healthier versions of your favorite foods.
 
Thanks for the tip!! I do actually have one of their cookbooks. When I glanced through it, it looked complicated with a lot of weird ingredients. I'll dust it off, and look through it again.
 
I didn't do too bad yesterday. I ate pretty well, considering I went to lunch with a friend and I didn't have my other meals and snacks planned out. I'm a firm believer in the saying: "If you fail to plan, then you plan to fail."

I'm having a hard time navigating through the forums. I posted replies on a few different forums, but I can't remember which ones. How do you find the posts that you create?? Any help would be appreciated.

Oh, yeah, I lost 5 pounds since yesterday!!! YEAH me!!! I must have really been retaining a lot of water, but I'll take what I can get!!!
