AI used to be very athletic and in shape but that was before I became a computer programmer. I've gained a little bit of weight, it's not that much but enough to make me look at myself differently in the mirror. I'm starting to see the fat go right around my stomach.

The problem is I'm a very busy person and almost have zero time to actually go to the gym or go outside and exercise. I'm mostly at my computer at the office or my home working. What would be the best ways for someone like me in my situation to lose weight? I know it's not magically just going to come off but I mean diet wise.

I have heard and read that if you eat 6 very small meals a day that it will speed up your metabolism and it can help you lose weight, I want to know if this is true.

If you have any suggestions for me please reply!

Thanks.

Hey drick, welcome to the forum!

Eating 6 small meals per day will only be an improvement if you eat fewer calories per day than what you were eating before. What are your eating habits currently like?

Is there any way you can convert your desk(s) to standing desks? Something like this:

This workstation change alone could potentally do wonders for your health and help to burn a few extra calories. You wouldn't have to stand all day, but you alternate between sitting and standing throughout the day.

Can you take breaks throughout the day. Even taking a few 5 to 15 min breaks throughout the day to walk around, go up and down stairs, or do a quick set of exercises can help to burn calories, wake you up, and even make your work more productive!

Some of the best transformations occur through diet without exercise. Look into some online prep coaches they can do wonders.

it actually will speed up your metabolism! but you need to get used to it. You are probably going to have the urge to eat more for lunch and less for the evening meal. So you will have to prepare yourself, I hope you can do it!

Hi

I m also Computer Programmer

if you can't walking around every day; you can dancing in you'r place 5min per day => it can help to burn calories...

I hope you can do it ! Good Luck

If your job does not allow you to move around, you can bring some light dumbbells that you can lift every once in a while. Or get up from your chair every hour and walk around for several minutes. You can also use your lunch break to do light exercises.

Hi Drick,

If your tight for time, try preparing your meals ahead of time. For example, Sunday night roasting some veggies and chicken breast enough to last you 2-3 days. do this a couple times per week. Also because you are in front of a computer most of your day try and make sure you are taking stretch breaks every 30 min. to an hour to try and reverse the forward rounded shoulder protrudung chin posture. This will do wonders for your back health.

Good Luck.
