I'm 14 and this is hard -before pictures-

I'm 14 years old,actually 13 turning 14 in one day but anyways I've started my diet two weeks ago and today Starts my third week. I've lost like 11 pounds...is that healthy? But anyways, I also have man boobs, I've read it is because of puberty but since I'm overweight I'm guessing it's because of that.. I'll put some before pics of me soon...

Hi whudda,

A few things from my point off view. When you first start loosing weight you tend to loose excess water first so it seems your weight drops quickly especialy if you have cut down on carbs like Bread and pasta. 11lb in 2 weeks is a lot but not supprising if you are changing your eating habbits.

Your Man boobs are just a place to store excess fat, I have them as does every overwieght bloke. But like the rest of the weight they will go once you hit a certain calorie intake vs excercise.

Simple rule is eat veg when ever possible stay away from sugary drinks and eat low fat meals, add some excercise into the mix and slowly but surely you will loose weight. Dont be supprised or upset if you level of weight loss slows down, thats perfectly normal and its the time when you most work at you fitness the most. I wish I had thought about weight when I was 14, I might have had an easier time in my 20's and 30's!

You keep doing what your doings as it is clearly working, dont go hungry and dont over do it, as both these things can lead back to the wrong way of doing things.

I am trying to do a bit each day, im not worried about the scales more about how far I can walk and staying away from the 6 cans of pop aday I used to drink.

Remember you didnt put this weight on in a few months its take a least a few years and you will not get rid of it over night, set yourself some goals. Just little ones but they will help.

Keep up the good work!

When I was 13-14, I wasn't even thinking about losing weight - didn't even think it was possible - just accepted thats how it was. Don't give up - there are many long hard years ahead - take them a day at a time.
 
184 doesn't sound too bad for your height. Just don't ever give up, especially if sometimes it seems like you're fighting a losing battle. I have been trying to lose weight ever since I was about your age, and it was only this year that I genuinely took it seriously without giving up.

You can do this man.

In Korrie's thread "Welcome Newbies - tips to help" which is in this newcomer section she gives instructions on creating tickers...

You can get to the ticker website by clicking on someone else's ticker...

HOW DO I GET A TICKER???

1) Go to the ticker website of your choice (most popular is tickerfactory.com)

2) Design your ticker. Copy the BBC CODE (the 1st set of codes)

3) Come back here...go to USER CP, EDIT SIG.

4) Paste your code in your signature box and either click on PREVIEW OR you can just click SAVE.


This will place this new signature into EACH post you've ever done, or ever will do (until you alter your signature).

Some Signature information:
Signatures are dynamic, they do not stay with the posts made at the time they were there. If you change your sig, it'll change on ALL posts.
Also, if you want to TEST your signature, there is NO NEED to make a post saying "testing signature", simply find ANY old post of yours and reload it, the signature will be there. Promise.

I think that it is easiest if you start a new session in a seperate window to do it. That way you can keep referring back to the instructions.
