If you eat too much one day

should you try and eat less the next day to compensate, or just get back on track the next day and eat what you should be eating each day?

Personally I think you just hop back on the wagon. Playing catch up is not a fun place to be mentally. I think it's healthier just to leave the past in the past and focus on moving forward.
 
ditto that I'll repeat what I said in your diary... :D

It's my opinion and experience that if you try to cut back over the next few days then that can lead to a binge - just put yesterday behind you and go forward - and learn from your misstep...
 
I've done that a lot the past days - I'm surprised I haven't gained weight, honestly.
I ate a tiny slice of cake this evening, a lot of pizza the past 3 days, many, many small meals over a course of 3-4 hours (I'm always hungry) and I feel so terrible, I try to exercise as I should or more the next day.
But I do think you should just stick with that you do usually.
One time of eating too much isn't going to do anything wrong long term.
