If I worked out in the morning for 45 minutes doing aerobics then ate one small meal at dinner time then did and hour of aerobics. Would i lose weight if that meal contained about 350 calories.

I dont want to hear about the metabolism slowing down because ive been told that. I just want to know if I would lose weight like that?

sorry i didnt see this post sooner, i dont think many people check out this section too much. are you saying that your only consuming 350 calories a day at dinner time? well of course if you keep this up for any length of time you will lose weight. but the sad part is that when you start eating normally again it will all come back!

You metabolism will actually speed up, the more often you eat, actually.

You should only need 30 minutes of aerobics a day 3 times a week, especially if you're just starting. Some people like doing more (up to an hour), I personally can't get past 30 minutes, and that's pushing myself.

350 calories a day will destroy your body (especially if you exercise twice a day, 45 +minutes cardio twice a day). Depending on your weight, goals, and how much you exercise, you should eat 1500 calories or more, or else your body will begin to store fat instead of loosing it.

Too little calories will force your body in a starvation mode & it will break down your muscle...you dont want that. I understand wanting the weight off ..but unfortunately its a slow tough process of eating right and exercise every day. I think an hr of cardio a day is fine but I think you need to be eating at least 1500 cal a day or your just shooting yourself in the foot..so to speak

ok, let's look at this realistically. 1 hour and 45 minutes of aerobic workout a day and 350 calories per day intake? The first 2 or 3 days you probably would lose quite a few pounds, of course it would be pointless because after a few days, you would be to weak to continue working out and after a week or so you probably would be laying in a hospital. Unrealistic plans like this are extremely dangerous and can be an early sign of a developing eating disorder. I watched my daughter doing crazy stuff like this when she first developed anorexia. If anybody actually thinks this can work, listen to what I'm saying. Don't try it. The damage you can do to your body is not worth it. My daughter is 20 yrs old now and will spend the rest of her life dealing with severe kidney, liver, and heart damage due to doing things like this. I'm sorry, I kind of went off on a tangent there but it's just soooo serious!

Honestly, have fun binging & passing/blacking out. Don't be stupid. I hate when I see girls do this to themselves. You are not super woman, don't push your body over it's limits.

Wow, this is scary

My goodness! I was so shocked that someone could actually think that 350cals a day with so much exercise could be healthy for them. You obviously know about calories and stuff but u have absolutely NO IDEA of how such a ratio of food/exercise can and WILL damage ur internal organs. Yes, u can keep it going for maybe 24-48hrs but ur body will crash and u WILL at some stage collapse due to lack of nutrition and deficits in minerals and electrolytes paramount for life! Ur liver and kidneys will begin to work harder whhich will put stress on ur heart. Please wake up to this and prevent undue and preventable pain to urself and surrounding family. Trust me i do know what i am talking about- i am a nurse and see this sad and very preventable disease pretty much every day i am at work. Its something u need to deal with and confide in someone u trust- they can help u come up with a healthy strategy to lose weight but in a structured way. This not a cheap way out with what u r doing- it will prove more expensive then u think! I think its got to stop here and now and stop the cycle of pain and punishment to urself! Get healthy and a healthy body weight by seeing a nutritionist, seek out a gym or join a sport club. TIME is the key- no quick fix. My sister did exactly what u r doing now and trust me- it is sad, it is dangerous and the outcome is more then tragic. She lost her teeth (she is 26 and didnt throw up!) her hair is horrible, her skin is damaged and her organs are up the creek- she now experiences mini strokes due to this! I am not joking. Sad for her but also her family (she has 2 kids) and her parents and siblings because one day she will have a major stroke and unfort she wont recover and will never be able to play with her kids and witness them get married. WAKE UP AND GROW UP AND TACKLE UR ISSUES HEAD ON IN HEALTHY MANNER. Atleast u have a chance to recover, my sister doesnt!

I agree! The lowest amount of cals you should intake per day ( and even this is stretching it ) is 800 cals! ( and that's usually only used on patients who need to lose weight for surgery.) Unless you do some sort of rotation diet so your metabolism doesn't die!

Ahh I had similar thoughts when i first started. Sure i understood that you had calories in with food and calories out with exercise, but i had no concept or even idea about BMR or calories burnt from just being alive.

I think the first day i had 600-700 calories and i was like 'How on earth can i keep this up for xxx months?!'
Im pretty smart so figured it out pretty quick. wikipedia.com was a fantastic help :)

Now I have a much better idea on what I'm supposed to be doing :D:D
