If you are trying to lose your weight, as you probably do first,healthy person which should consume at least 1,200 calories per day, regardless of what their diet is. You eat 1,200 calories, which will have about 4,000 calories to burn a day to meet their goal.
 
Fat is supposedly 9.4kcal/g, which is roughly 9,400kcal/kg. 1kg is roughly 2.2lb, so we're looking at a little over 4,000kcal/day to lose 1lb of fat. We actually want to lose more than that if we're after 10lb/wk -- a little under 1.5lb/day, so let's take the little over and little under and even it out to roughly 6,000kcal/day. That's how many more calories you need to be using than consuming in order to lose 10lb of fat per week. The average person, when performing an average hour of exercise (actual exercise, not just standing around talking between sets, a la me) burns about 450kcal/hr (5-10kcal/min = 300-600kcal/hr = 450kcal average). Keeping with that rate, assuming that before exercise diet is at maintenance, we're looking at 13.33 hours of exercise daily to lose 10lb fat per week. Reduce calorie consumption and you can reduce exercise duration required, but not to an amount that's still reasonable for anyone with a life.

Added problems here include metabolic damage and a whole lot of health risks, injury being a relatively mild consequence (and also one that's close to inevitable).

Honestly, I wouldn't even try losing 1.5lb/wk -- 0.5-1lb/wk would be a far more pleasant journey with far fewer risks and probably better end results -- but that would be the upper limit of targeted weight loss.
