I want "the gap"

Hi everyone,

I'm new here, and thought that this is a fabulous way of getting in touch with other people with the same goals.

I've been trying to lose some weight (as we all are!) I've started a diary already! So you'll read all about my vital urges and stats there :p

This is going to make me accountable, because seriously. How embarrassing would it be, to announce to everyone and the big world, that I'm going to lose weight and do something about it and then.............

Nothing.
So yes embarrassment is my motivator~!

I really wanted to lose weight, because last year, my new years resolution was to lose 10kgs, instead I started a new job, and GAINED 10kgs not really what I was after....

My obsession with my body is mainly..... I want the gap. Now girls may deny this, but seriously in summer your thighs chafe, its painful and not pretty. I'm looking forward to the day that this NEVER happens.
But I was talking to someone, and they said depending on your body type you may never get the Gap. I choose to ignore this because that is just too depressing....

Ok before this gets too long. I'll say ciao's!

Ihave no idea what the gap is -other thana store that sells clothes.. but - hey it's good ot have a goal...

However, do keep your expectations realistic.. if your body type doesn't allow for it to happen... you will be setting yourself up for a lot of disappointment and frustration down the road..

take it one step at a time -one habit at a time...

True True :)
It's more of a joke between my friends then anything. You know you see the girls with the stick legs, and their thighs don't meet. When they stand you can see right through the space between their thighs, (a train could probably pass through). Anyways you get the idea.
We always joke that those girls, have thighs that don't chafe during the summer.
That's the gap. But not sure, my trainer says that, if you train hard and lose your body fat, then that will go as well, but then everyone says something different. So I figure I'll get there when I get there. Rather then setting myself up for disappointment :)

I too yearn for the gap, although I have never had a proper name to attribute to the phenomenon. Last night as I walked through Pittsburgh with some friends I stared enviously at the gap my stick figure friend possesses... it's hardcore. I doubt it is in my expressed genetics to obtain it. I'm a spoon and that is where I carry my weight and width: the thighs and butt and lower abdomen.

I don't experience chaffing during the summer; however, that is because I only wear long pants. I do not swim or wear clothes that reveal my legs because I am so disgusted with my thighs.

Yay I'm glad someone understands what I'm getting at!
yes I know, its so not fair, its like a little triangle of space that I just don't have! Also I think it must be really easy for those girls to get into tight jeans hehe.

Yeah, but if you wear skirts your thighs will chafe too!
I think I am one of those thoroughly unashamed overweight people, who look really bad in something, but people are too embarrassed to say anything.
You know the ones with the gut hanging out of their jeans? OR really wobbly white thighs in shorts. That's the only reason I can have for wearing shorts with no shame. haha That and its just too hot! So much more comfortable to have shorts on. I know its unattractive, so I try not to look at the bits that wobble..... but can't help myself at the same time (bad road accident syndrome).
