Hi all,

I am new here and decided to take the big step in accepting that I am overweight and seeking help in this forum.

Over the years I did some diet but it always end up in yo yo, loosing but gaining more. So I guess I did not do it properly!

Please help me found out wich diet could work for me and having being operated for breast cancer, I am not the best person for exercice.

I will take a day at a time so I want to be healthy by 2011!

Thanks for this forum

Kris,

Welcome to the forum. Don't worry if you cannot do intense exercise. I lost about 80 pounds before I ever went to the gym, mostly by counting calories and a moderate amount of walking. How much you eat is much more important for weight loss than exercise is.

Ain't that the truth. I am learning how calorie dense small portions of food are, how we really do not need all that much food to exist-- I am guilty as many people are of filling our plates with food that adds up such that our daily calorie load far far exceeds are requirements, leading to fat accumulation. Educating ourselves on the calories present in just small amounts of food I think is critical to this battle. Like the OP, I too want to be normal again, to feel thin, feel healthy. And fit comfortably in a coach seat on an airplane and be healthy to walk about in exotic cities so I can travel once again (my big carrot on a stick).

PS: Just had breakfast. Two veggie fake sausage patties for breakfast with some lo-cal fake maple syrup on them for breakfast: 160 cals, high protein. One day at a time.

..., mostly by counting calories and a moderate amount of walking. How much you eat is much more important for weight loss than exercise is.
