I want a Fit Lifestyle!

Hey all,

My name is Ashley, my mom told me about this site, so I decided to stop on in and register. I am 27, married for almost 3 years, with 2 German Shepherds. Yep no kids as of yet... Thats part of why I am here. When I got married I was unbeknowst to myself the healthiest I had really been.
I was walking/running every night. I have never been a runner and I found myself running for 20-25 mintues easily. I remember that feeling of just going and WANT IT BACK! :)

So I am not getting any younger and feel unhappy with how I look and the way everything fits and feels. And having extra weight is not healthy for having kids.
Although some people think I am silly for wanting to lose weight before I considering getting pregant. They say, why? your just going to gain it back anyways...but thats another story.
I want to be fit and trim, toned and ACTIVE. I want to go and go and go and run around with my very active dogs!
So I have been working out at least 3x a week so far starting in March and am just here for continued support.

I am part of a German Shepherd forum and I am still trying to get used to this one, its set up a bit differently and I am finding it a lil hard to navigate.

Thanks!

Sounds like you have the attitude to succeed! I think you will find a lot of support and motivation here. I suggest starting a diary, and maybe popping your head in a few existing diaries, get to know some of the people here. You can't go wrong finding good people around here, for the most part. :p

Side note: My friends German Shepard bit the tip of my ear off when I was in the 5th grade.

But I still love the breed, very beautiful dogs!

hey i resent that - i'm mostly a good person... sort of... on every other thursday... and one sunday amonth...

welcome to the forum :) is your mom a member here?

glad to have you here - enjoy your stay

Welcome to the forums Ashley. My siberian husky was a big help to me in losing my excess weight and in getting fit. A lot of dog-walking, became a lot of dog running (using a canicross belt), and these days my fitness is maintained not only by strength training at the gym, but a lot of dog-cycling (using a Springer attachment). I have an unwritten agreement with Wolfy to keep each other fit. I changed lifestyle a little over a year ago and haven't looked back - it really is worth it, it really is living - sounds as though you already have that running bug, its great isn't it, makes you feel good?

Good luck on your goals!

Thanks Toothless,

Yeah you do have your work cut out for you with a husky, born runners those are...;)
What are canicross belts? And Springer Attachments?

Ironically enough I have been wanting to try bike riding, especially now that the sunny weather is coming. Plus with my female GSD, Kayla she is incredibly hard to wear out, girls got some drive. Last summer we rollerbladed with them, which is fun, but I get tired before they do...yeah.

So I thought bike riding we could go longer and have more tired doggies and anybody who has dogs knows...Tired dogs are happy well behaved dogs, which make for happy mommies! lol. Added bonus is I get excerise too!

Yes, maleficient my mom is a member she is bethann1156. Go mom!

Oh and Steve, that really sucks about your ear. I am really conscienceious about having well behaved dogs. Not everybody are dog people and it's important for me to have well behaved obediant doggies.

Thanks for the Welcome everybody!
I will have to do more web browsing later, because now I need to go to the gym!

You did not mention about the kind of diet you are following. Also you can opt for a good detoxification and toning program before you go on a diet and exercise program for fat loss. Liver and Colon detoxification, cleansing and regular movement of the bowels, balancing your hormones (especially thyroid) is also very essential for fat loss. This regimen will also get rid of your depression or mood swings which you currently face.

the previous postings in this thread are from 2007 - I doubt that they are still waiting for replies.
