I Want A 6 Pack And Big, Muscled Arms

thats pretty ****... just eat meat like a normal person and u might find that u never were naturally skinny , u need protien so if u arent gonna eat meat i might suggest that u invest in some protien shakes... u should be eating from ALL the major food groups

slimburnzy, that's an insulting comment. Don't be so close-minded to other people's ideas. You don't know their reasons for being vegetarian, and in any case, it's their choice, and they can still eat from all the major food groups. Beans, maybe?

im not realy close minded , i just fail to see how ppl can miss out on the most important of all food groups... so many problems could be solved if ppl would just eat meat... i just think that in the interests of trying to build muscles u should be eating plenty of meat :)

I echo SnapThat's comments, it's everyone's personal choice as to whether they're a vegetarian or not. And, for your information slimburnzy, I have a protein shake once every day as well as other sources of protein e.g. nuts, eggs, milk etc.

I bought new weights, and am working with two dumbells, each of which weighs 6.8kg each, so obviously, that's a combined weight of 13.6kg. In each of the 8 exercises I do, I do 15 slow reps, is this enough? This is what the poster that came with the weights advised was a good number of reps to do.

However, I am not seeing much progress with my abs. I know some people cannot see a six pack for genetic reasons etc, but if I tense my muscles I can clearly see the top 4, and when I am working out I can really feel them tense and become very solid, which surely means I am not one of those unfortunate people. However, when I am not exercising, my stomach shows no signs of six pack progress, and neither feels that way either. I have been working them for about 5 weeks in total, with the following exercises...

Stomach Crunch 2 X 15
Leg Raise 2 X 15
Knee Up 2 X 15
Oblique Twist 2 X 15 on both sides
Cross Knee Crunch 2 X 15
Side Bend 2 X 15
Back Cycle 2 X 50
Jack Knife 2 X 15

I have posted an updated picture from this afternoon, and although the pictures aren't of the highest quality, I can guarentee you that I can see no trace of a six pack when my muscles aren't tensed, but when they are, I can clearly see the top 4. I can't see much progress, can you? And even if you can't, does it sound as if I will get a six pack sooner or later? As recommended, besides playing tennis three times and going out for one run, I have severely cut down my cardio because I am very thin. I don't feel more cardio would be of much use, but I continue to eat a very clean diet, with at least 5 pieces of fruit/vegetables a day, no sweets/crisps/soft drinks and a protein drink and other sources of it each day.

Thanks to everyone who has responded by the way.

The reason why most people don't eat meat is because they don't feel they should take somethings life just to eat when there are other alternatives. Jamiek is living perfectly fine without meat.

How about we eat you for meat slimburnzy? Or feed you to the sharks so they have a nice meal? You wouldn't like that too much would you? I am sure the animals don't either. This is the reasoning behind many vegetarians. And yes, fish are alive too and are sad when we eat them.

I am not a vegetarian myself, but fully understand the reasoning behind it. Just wanted to show slimburnzy the other side of it is all.

Why are you a Vegetarian anyways? =) No offense!

But on the vegetarian thing...

Not sure of your religion, but the way of life is for a carnivore to eat.

Animals hunt and chase down their prey to eat and survive. Indians did so as well. People hunt to eat food and they honor what they have eaten.

If animals could hunt people and eat them, I am sure they would. Fish fight for their lives against other fish in the sea and also run from us as well. But it's life, you eat animals and you live and die. I dont agree with any reasoning unless you have mental problems or a disease that wont allow your body to digest meat like some kids actually do have.

Hello everyone.

I am 15 years old, I will be 16 on November 6th 2005. I am 5'9 tall, and weigh 8.8 stones, which transfers to 123.2 pounds. If I want a six pack, will I need to eat more and bulk up rather than reduce my body fat? I'm not sure what my BF % is though... At the bottom of my post are some photos of my arms and waist area from just a few minutes ago.

I want a 6 pack, and I want big, muscled biceps and triceps. I have the motivation to go the gym, and push myself to the limit. I take a protein supplement once everyday, and can comfortably train with 4.5kg dumbell weights.

Obviously, being 15, I am still at school, so only have nights to train, although I can access treadmills and rowing machines etc at the gym at my school at lunchtimes.

What I want to know, is, what do I have to do to get a 6 pack and big arms? My diet is very clean, I haven't eaten any crisps, sweets, fizzy drinks for about a year, eat about five portions of fruit a day. I am a vegetarian, and my only sources of protein are walnuts, cashew nuts and my supplement.

I don't know the mumbo-jumbo of exercises, so please tell me what to do specifically. Thanks.

P.S. - Please ignore 'customised' wallpaper, that being Carmen Electra's arse and Jessica Simpson's norks everywhere.

if u want bigger arms u must do heavy weights and do them until u cant do them no more, then stop and rest for one day and do it again the folling day.after a couple of months u should see a differnece "i did".
