Hello, all.

I feel a little funny about posting here since only other people have weight problems ;) but I figured I would give it a try.

As you can see from the ticker in my sig line, I hit 260 pounds and decided that my weight was out of control. I have lost 17 pounds so far through cutting out all snacking between meals, eliminating soda from my life entirely, cutting way back on alchohol (almost completely), and reducing portions at meal times. In addition I have been more active by walking more. I can't say that I am "working out" but I am simply getting my butt out of my chair more often. It all seems to be working so far but I still have a long way to go. I am on a good trajectory right now. I just hope I can maintain the discipline...

As I said, I am feeling a little shy about this whole message board thing but let's see how it goes...

OK, I figured how to change the ticker. I'm not sure why I couldn't figure it out before.

Hey BigBear congrats on your loss so far that’s terrific. It sounds like you are on the right track, welcome to the forum.
 
Thank you, Rose. I have trying and failing to lose weight for several years. Now I have finally gotten some control over my behavior and the weight is coming off. It feels wonderful. After much despair I am beginning to believe that I may indeed be able to reach a healthy weight again.
