Hello forum,
I'm a typical bloke who has always eaten what i like and although i've struggled with my weight I've never been bothered enough to do much about it, until my doctor told me I was verging on becoming diabetic. He pointed me towards intermittent fasting and mentioned the success of former patients with the same type of risks that I had and I felt it was worth a go.
The diet plan that my doctor reccommended is called the easyfast diet and it is basically as simple as it gets - fast day followed by eat day - but it also has a weight loss hypnosis recording and some pretty useful tips and techniques that I must admit, to my surprise, have helped me overcome hunger (my biggest fear about fasting) in a way that i never thought would be possible for a big eater like myself.
I think this method is sustainable in the long-term for me because it really is only one day at a time, the next day i eat normally and still allow myself treats.
Time will tell but over the 6 weeks since i started I have found it easy to lose about a stone and my doctor is happy as my diet is reducing my risk...and I feel great.
I joined this forum to discover and chat to other people who use intermittent fasting or 5:2 ratio diets for health and weight loss.
Cheers,
Sandy
