I think I'll try defying gravity.

Defying Gravity

New member
Hello, hello. The name is Lily. As some of you might notice, I'm a fan of the play Wicked. I'm to be sixteen on January 5th and I'm unhappy at my current weight. I weigh about 250 lbs and am 5'3. (Short and fat, oh yay. I'm already defying gravity.)

I really need some advice on losing weight.

I've tried before and have always given up. Well, it's a new year and guess what my New Year's Resolution was!?

I return to school in two days, which means that I'll be stressed once more.

I know it's impossible to tell someone not to stress...but "relax!" It's going to be okay. *smile* What grade are you in, Lily? You have actually chosen a good de-stressor in losing weight! Exercising always makes me feel better and more calm. See if you get the same response!

Advice? I'm relatively new myself....but how about some questions? What can you do? Can you walk or do a workout video? What do you want to eat or not eat? Make sure you drink a lot of water! It seems like a hype with everything singing about water and weight loss but it really DOES work.

Most importantly - don't. give. up. Keep going in tiny steps. You'll get there!

I love Wicked! I saw your blog title and got excited. *grin* That is the music I listen to most often when I run.

Happy New Year!

Hi Lily!

Whenever I start my weight loss programs (yes, multiple!), I always start with walking. It boosts me in two ways. The physical rush is awesome. Also, the sense of accomplishment of just getting out and doing something is good for the psyche. I wish you the best of luck! And drink tons of water. It's good for you, and the more you drink, the more you get used to it. I was a chuby kid in school too. I know what it's like. I graduated 6 years ago. If you need some advice or someone to talk to, look me up. :)

Cant say ive ever heard of 'wicked' however i wish you luck with your goals.

There is a link in my sig that may help explaining a lot of the bullocks of dieting. Its a simple case of energy in vs energy out.

Sign up to something like fitday.com or sparkpeople.org and keep track of them all nicely and easily!

lol god no! i freeze when im on stage!

Im like a singstar queen - i can sing really well, but as soon as you put me on a stage i go all offkey and panicy lol.

Even giving talks or speeches i panic and skip bits and then end up sounding like a real cad that has no clue :/

Im a techie computer geek, i make websites, i program, i set up mail servers and webservers, i do not talk on stage lol :D

Yes! There are Broadway people on here!!! :)

hello and welcome! well don't get too stressed to be back in school.. for me being back in school is actually the best time to lose weight(i usually gain weight during the holidays!haha).. cos i'll be busy with schwork and sch activities.. that means i'l be occupied most of the time and won't be snacking and stuff due to boredom.. maybe you can take up some sports in sch? in that way u can have fun with ur friends and lose weight at the same time! all the best to u.. cheers =)
